Well, after reading all this..... I should have no problem finding a girl when I am ready.

For me, this has been the summer of "50 first dates". Okay 8 to be exact. I am very picky now. I always held high standards for the men that I date, but I think now, they may be, possibly, a little too high. Call it pride, or fear of a repeat performance. I don't know exactly what it is, but I refuse to make a lateral move, and I absolutely will not go down. I want my new partner to be everything my ex was not. For example, my ex was pretty handy around the house, but hardly ever picked up a book, so now I want someone who is more cerebral and has his own set of tools. You may laugh, but it's true! I know this sounds nutty, but my point is that I get what you are saying. On the flip side, I feel like my instincts are so much more tuned in to the warning signs of an impending disaster when it comes to dating now. I listen to my instincts about a guy now more than ever before. I've learned that if something doesn't feel right early on, it's a waste of time and energy to try and talk myself out of feeling that way. That's my internal alarm saying it's time to move on.

I'm so nervous about dating again and yet I really can't see myself not dating if the divorce goes through. I am already making mandatory criteria. In my case, it has to do with trust and not putting up with things from my marriage, for the number one, Abuse. It's hard to look at someone and figure out if they're abusive, so I may just be forward about it on the first date and say look I'm struggling with this because I got out of an abusive relationship and would not put up with it by anyone any longer. Otherwise, I think that's my major stipulation.

Well -
1. He must be at least 250 pounds and not looking to lose weight and white.
2. Must have at least a 4 year degree.
3. Must have a good job and be able to support me!
4. Must be kind, gentle, loving and never hits!
5. Must be able to be emotional and strong. Not afraid to cry.
6. Must be able to listen to everything and hold an intellegent conversation.
7. You can drink and smoke socially! I do!
8. Like to gamble on the penny and nickel slot machines.
9. No kids and must know that I can't have children with out an act of god!
10. Must love me and be able to show that love - flowers, opening of doors, PDAs.
11. Must love cats!
12. Must have finances under control and smart money wise!
13. Pay for the first date totally! Treat me! Something that has never happen.

See we can all dream. I was the one that was left...on Christmas.

Most men don't want overweight women, even if they are overweight themselves. I am not sure why. We are much better in bed. LOL :-)

Oh yeah must be Librial in thinking but be able to take the other side. (you will know - if anyone ever gets to know me.) Religion is a no go - I like it better if your watching the game on Sunday with my dad then sitting at church. Also must be able to get along with my parents and be close your parents. Respect for all.

Oh yeah - the "1" must be at least 250...I like people who are up to 450 pounds. Wink Wink!

Hey that is a pretty short list and I think it is fine. You are describing character more than anything else...the height thing is pretty much out of his control though. You might miss out on Mr. Perfect Independant, Drives, Great Career but a little short. LOL!! Don't let that happen to you. I know women who have lists that go on and on for pages...I have a criteria just haven't put it on paper. For me it is what I feel in my gut and watch for the red flags.
