Of course these things help us heal but are any of us really at a place to start a new relationship when we haven't healed from the ones that brought us here?
Any Therapist worth their salt will tell us that we should take our time, do introspective growth work, figure out what our roles were, take time to heal and self define, and not jump into another relationship. It's not so much where you meet someone as much as it is should you be jumping into another relationship w/o looking at what happened before and figuring out how to do it differently. I think that is the biggest point to be made. It's just common sense.
As far as the internet goes maybe it can be a good way to hook up with peeps but one shouldn't give themselves or their heart over to quickly as in any other manner of meeting folks. Their is no way one can truly know who someone is w/o actually being in their presence. Their are nuances you don't get online like body language, energy, real life circumstances such as how someone deals with life's stresses, how they behave around people or when they drink, if they pick their teeth or nose etc... Anybody can put up a front online. And it doesn't even have to be intended to be deceptive, it could be when you get together you just don't jive.....
It just makes sense to meet someone and be in their presence and get to know them in real life before you invest yourself in it...
Just my take....
