Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
The other day it was a debate over whether you should trust a man who is separated, but not divorced yet. The general consensus was to run like hell because he probably can't be trusted and will most likely go back to his wife after using you. Wow. Nothing like sweeping generalizations.
Tonight it's a blanket statement that if you should, by chance, strike up something out of a DS friendship, you should have you head checked and , again, run like you're being chased by the devil.
Yeah, we're all here because we hurt or were hurting. Yeah, we all have baggage. But, we're human, people. With human emotion and feeling. If you meet someone, whether at work, at the gym, at the grocery store, in a bar, on DS, etc. and they make you happy, then f**king ride that train...cautiously.
Case by case, individualized decisions. Let's stop making stereotypes and generalizations, ok??
I'm the opposite, actually. I prefer to get all of my baggage on the front stoop right off the bat. "Here, this is my crap. Are you going to be okay with this? Oh, and by the way, I've seen your crap, and it's not bad at all. I'm good with all that."
At this point in my life, I'd rather date a woman who's been through a divorce, I think. She'd be able to relate to and understand some of what I'm going through and not be threatened by the presence of my stbx in my life (who will always lurk in the background because of our son).
And beisdes, I'd rather be with a woman who knows that life isn't all a bed of roses and you have to work, really WORK, at a marriage. Too many people who have never been married think it's all sunsets and honey.
. . . .
Wait, what was the topic again?
1. You will get laid if that is what you desire, perhaps by someone here...who knows?
2. This IS the real world. This isn't World of Warcraft or Second Life. These are the most "real" people I've met in years. Embrace it!! LOL
