When you have spent so much time with a person, it is hard NOT to think of them or dream. It has been almost 3 years since my ex left, even though he has done horrific things, he still invades my thoughts.

If the relationship was very significant, and you truly thought it would last forever, then it could take a long time to completely get over her. But, the good news is, in the meantime, you are slowly getting over her.... each and every day that goes by. Sometimes, having dreams or nightmares about an ex could signal that you are missing something in your life. Maybe the girls you are dating now are just not right for you, so you are thinking/dreaming of how great things were with your ex. Our subconscious comes out in our dreams. Try to think of all the *bad* things about your ex! :) She couldn't have been that great... or she'd still be with you. There must have been some things you didn't like about her. Think more about those things. Make a list of pros and cons of her and make sure and include allllll of her cons. Also, try to branch out more. If you're around the same friends (as hers), and go to the same restaurants (that you two used to go to), then of course it's going to be hard to get past this. Time for some new things, new people, new adventures. Go out and get some new adventures! :) She's moved on, so why don't you?
