My stbx keeps track of how much money is spent. She has been doing this way before we were married. Right now, during our separation, I give her $2,000 a month. She thought that since I am not living with them that she can live on what she make and the $2,000 I give her.
We have been separated since march and she is having a hard time living on $6,000. She wants more from me.
I want to wait until the divorce and let the judge decide on how much I should give her.

I couldn't come close to living on that. We have a large home and a big mortgage along with two children in out of state colleges. I'm buying airline tickets for the children and this week alone I'll drop $1,000.00 for college books.
It all depends on how old your children are and your current lifestyle.
If you can, sit down and go over the bills with your stbx. This is back to school time with $300.00 physicals and books that cost a forture and clothes that suddenly don't fit anymore. Maybe consider going shopping with her so you know that is for things that the children really need.
