'Private Profile'???

If you have a 'private profile' & you are new to DS, could you please tell me why.....ok even if youve been with DS awhile why do you have a 'private profile' who are you hiding from, we are all in the same boat here arnt we??
How are people suppose to get to know you if your private, specially if your new? I just dont get it???

I'm more than a tad paranoid. I try to be careful who I accept as friends. I've been diagnosed with a variety of physical and psychological illnesses. I've also been the victim of identity theft more than once.

Point well taken nevernude...when a person has a Private Profile, we can't send them HUGS or PM's ...we can't see anything about their DX or anything about them.........So my question is...how DO THEY make friends ?

You can send anyone a PM whether their profile is private or not.

If you click on "My Messages" on the right, then "Send a Message" you can just hand-type their username since you can't click on it. (Just make sure you're spelling everything correctly!)

No, not hostile...just a bit curious to some of us .

I've accepted Friend requests from people with private profiles before, I've never had any problems .

I know that some people have had issues with their abusive or controlling family or Significant others spying on them.

Paranoia isn't always wrong. Sometimes it's justified.

well,well...my reason is young girls from over seas,,were hitting on me....for a free ride to the usa.....i'm sick and haven't alot of money plus i'm not interested in girls young enough to be my daughter.......plus they sent sexy pictures.....thats my reason.............
