I made plans this weekend to hang out with a friend at his place, got there and shortly after his sorta girlfriend called to say there was a party she had two tickets to and would he like to go. Of course he said yes. I was in no mood to be at home- I was sorta feeling down and I hate being home when I'm like that cos that's when the cutting happens. This other guy I know was on the same hall so I thought I'd stop by and say hi. Turns out a group of girls I knew were there and they were having movie night. I could feel the tension when I walked in, they were all looking at me like 'what the hell are you doing here', heck, one girl actually asked so I left shortly after. I just felt so unwanted there and these were people i knew. Anyhow, decided to stick around with my friend cos his gf wasn't gonna be there for a while. When she finally did come I still was in no mood to be alone so I thought maybe I'd give hanging out with the Ice group another shot, knocked on the door and no one answered. Worse, they turned the lights off to make it seem like they weren't there. I won't even tell you how embarrassed and hurt I felt. It just made my mood worse. As luck would have it the only other person I felt like hanging out with also had plans so the big loser I am I slept in my friend's room til 4 when he and his gf came back from their party and walked home. Now I don't feel like being around those people anymore. I thought we were getting along but I guess not. My friend implied it might be because of how am, my 'crazy'. "You need to learn to not act so... crazy around people, save it for when you're alone". I could have strangled him for saying that like I WANT to be the girl nobody wants to hang out with or i WANT to be the 'crazy weird chic'. Sigh.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...
Do you have a Dr. you can talk to? Or a therapist?
Hold true to your value. You're important and valuable.
Therapy helped me learn about my feelings as being feelings
and not necessarily the truth of what was happening.
Peace to you,
MM
I wish more people understood - or at least were more Accepting.
Hugggggs :/
I think maybe caring less would serve you well. But it's easy to get carried away with apathy so... Just towards strangers maybe? People seem to gravitate towards those who aren't overly-exerted. It's weird. Making friendships in general is a lot easier when you don't get particularly close to people.
When I'm having a bad depression phase lasting several months, I have to kind of limit social contact to almost nothing to ensure that I don't have an 'episode' or 'outburst' like what you're describing in front of people. So there's that. Not the best way, but definitely the sure way.
But these people sound rude lol. Reach out to more distant acquaintances maybe to supplement the lack of close contacts.
This summer when I got out of being in 4 different mental institutions plus a rehab over the course of several weeks, my nerves were so spiked that I went OFF on a friend. He was acting... sleazy and just... gross, Idk. I'd usually just ignore him/it but it was disrespectful and he was the first person I saw non-family "on the outside" so my tolerance for it was zero that day. Lolol.
We all have our moments. Like I said, live and learn. Conflict teaches one a lot about both others and ones' self.
But anticipation of being 'the awkward one' there will make you give off 'the weird one' vibe lol, so just try to be cool about it. Just be keeeeeeeww. You got this.
Sounds like you need to keep trying to find some real friends who are nice (I know, hard.)
The good news is that you are really brave and you are trying hard to avoid putting yourself in a bad position being alone, give yourself a huge thumbs up for that.
Being social and making new friends takes some awkward moments and effort, but if you find just 1 good friend it's all worth it.
