With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Hey all!! My name is Rachel. I'm 31 years old from Cleveland, Ohio and I live with my husband and 2 furbabies. I have been pulling my eyebrows and eyelashes for 18 years. I've been to a psychologist, psychiatrist, behavioral therapist and tried meds (prozac, buspar, luvox and anafrinil). For me these just didn't work and I always did better on my own (though I've heard of lots of people who do marvelously with them). I have had periods in my life where I've had all my eyebrows and eyelashes (senior yr of high school and my wedding...that was a shocker). I also have had times where I can stop for a few months and then it all goes down hill. Quite recently I've had a relapse that has been very destructive and lasted a couple months. I'm done...I've had enough and am really ready to stop. I really need to do this for myself. I've had too many emotional set backs lately with relapses, then add not being pregnant yet after 15 months trying, not good. This is the time for me to be motivated. I'm about a day and a half pull free (not that my hands didn't try last night, just got lucky). I intend to keep that going. I'm open to advice and welcome encouragement :) Here's to being Pull-Free!!!

Can't believe I'm still going!! I don't even know what to do with myself :) So happy right now! Just wish I could figure out a way to fix my hair. It's totally damaged and breaking from the heat of my hair dryer and coloring it. That kinda sucks, but still can't dampen my spirits about my success so far. I've always had sort of crappy hair so I can deal with that. Not going to say there haven't been urges or somewhat close calls. I've managed to put my hands down if I find that they've made their way to my eyes. I'm making an effort to be always conscious about my trich and it has been working so far. It's not that I want to dwell on it, but it's always at the forfront which makes it easy for me to catch myself as opposed to being lax about it and having zone out moments where I'm not in control. It's also helping that I'm spending more time outside so I'm not really sitting down until 8-8:30pm so I don't have as much time to trance out. I'm confident that I'll be able to continue, which I haven't felt in quite a while. Hope everyone is doing well with their own PF journies!!!

Yaaaaay! Awesome. Yes, definitely keep aware, not thinking about trich seems to lead people down the pulling path. And as time goes on you won't need to think so much about being aware, you just will be.

Are you using any particular barrier methods, or just relying on mental determination? Either way, it's working for you. Good job!

Right now it's just mental determination. That combined with minimal urges have helped me succeed this far. I'm super happy with myself and how much my eyebrows and eyelashes. That has also given me loads of motivation to stay PF. I don't look great without makeup even with eyebrows, but it's a nice feeling that if I had to run to the store or soething I don't have to worry about drawing my eyebrows on first. It's been a wonderful feeling. I do wish I could pinpoint what is causing the lack of urges right now since nothing has really changed. Some things are just a mystery still.

Hi RaeBax, I'm also working on being PF on my eyebrows and eyelashes! I can totally relate about wanting to have the option of running to the store without worrying about makeup. Haha. Or to not be ultra paranoid about your makeup washing off if you have to walk a bit in the rain... Gah! Congrats on your 45 and 47 days!! (Though it's hopefully more now, since you haven't been on in a few!) Keep it up!

Hey all!!! Been busy or completely out of it the last few days (just really tired). I'm still going strong though. Been having a lot of eye issues allergy wise lately and that's usually REALLY bad for me. Somehow I've kept it going and haven't let it get to me. I'm feeling really great about my progress. I haven't been PF this long since before I got married 5 years ago. Loving it!!!!!! Thanks again to everyone for all your support and encouragement. It's a HUGE blessing =)
