Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
So, I think I had the tendency to become anxious.
However, my anxiety started from a physical accident in my late 20's. That's when it really got bad, and continues every day, more than 20 years later.
It's nice to hear from you. Hope all is well.
I can relate to family having anxiety. My mom has it and my brother and sister and aunts and uncles. It's kinda of all over our family.
Sorry to hear about your accident. Sure that would trigger your anxiety too. It's tough to have to go through it for the last 2o years. Do you see a therapist or take anything for it?
Some of the most anxious/depressed people I know are folks who have never experienced extra-ordinary trauma and are terrified of the possibility. They make safety/security look like one of the meanest prisons ever devised.
Yes I think everyone in their life time has had some kinda of trauma that they have gone through.
It is a scary experience and for people that have never experienced it, I wouldn't wish it upon anybody.
It is something that sticks with you for as long as you have gone through the traumatic event. I guess you can say that you don't forget it. You live with it for the rest of your life. For me I have a lot of anxiety through family. And experiencing death was too much for me to handle. That's kinda of when my anxiety started. It has gotten better. Death is not easy for anyone to deal with.

I'm glad you are seeing a therapist and medication is helping as much as it can. Sorry that you still struggle. It is a on going thing that we all struggle with that have anxiety. Just take one day at a time and do the best you can. Take care and Happy Holidays.
partly genetic. Never had real trauma. My grandmother had mental
breakdowns off and on her whole adult life. My mother got OCD and anxiety
from her mother. And passed it to me.
It sounds like your OCD and GAD is genetic.
I too have a mom that had anxiety along with my siblings. So I think it's something that was passed along to me too.
Sorry that you have had to deal with it your whole life.
Do you see a therapist? They can help you through what your experiencing. Here's to healing. You take good care. And thank you for your comment. Italianmomma4ever
Trauma just added sides and came with no extra charge.
I would have to agree with you genetic for me.
And then some trauma from deaths topped it off..
I like how you described trauma.
No extra charge here either. Ugh.
Thanks Mid for the great comment.
Happy Healing!!!!
