Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Lately I've been having a lot of scary bad thoughts that won't go away. It feels like my brain is using them to hurt me almost. I think it may be intrusive thoughts but I'm not sure if you have to be diagnosed with something to say you have that or not. So I'll just call them scary thoughts for now. Like my brain is telling me I'll do horrible things that I've never even wanted to do or thought about and it makes me feel so guilty and scared of myself. I have no desire to do any of these things but it's hard to believe that I'm a good person if I'm having these thoughts. They come on at the worst times I'm scared to be around people because what if my brain is true what if I actually hurt people? Just a little bit ago it got a lot worse because of a comment my sister made. I really like making random things out of anything like I am very creative even if it doesn't have a purpose it's still fun to create things. So I took and empty box and cut some holes in it to make a mask because I though it would make people laugh (it did) but then my sister said I looked like a murderer and only someone who kills people would spend that much time on something like that. It literally took me like 5 minutes and i just did it for fun and to make people laugh bc my family is over and we were all joking around. I felt really bad after she said that and now I feel like just a horrible person. I get really upset when people talk about me being weird or scary or different bc I never want to scare anyone ever. I know I am a little bit different but I'd never want to hurt anyone and it's taken me a long time to try and find peace with being different. Now I'm anxious and scared to even be here right now because my brain keeps making me think I actually am bad. I don't even like talking about this because what if it makes it real? It's hard to explain but this is scary to talk about. I just needed to vent about it because I don't want to sit alone with these thoughts. If anyone else deals with this please let me know I could use some support.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Sometimes when we are.different, we focus on that and can't always.see.the.similarities. Truth be told, we are ALL a.little different and each have our quirks.
You are not bad. When you.have those.thoughts come, begin speaking truth to them. "I am kind." " I make others laugh. " "I am.creative." " The world is better because.of.me. " Say those out loud and HEAR. them.
Nobody likes being talked about. But sometimes, we may think people are.talking more than they really are.
Give yourself some.grace and love..... and speak.encouraging words. The more you say them, the more you hear them. The more you hear them, the more you believe them. The more you believe them, the more confidence will grow.
Stay you and be creative!
our minds can be messed up some times and think things. like my mind thinks of ways to hurt my self or kill my self but dont mean im gona do it. we just cant trust our minds
Yay you for finding the courage to talk about them here. Getting them out of the emotional closet and out into the open air makes them allot easier to sort and remediate. Vent freely. Vent often.
Quite a few of my psychotherapy supporters, both pro and peer, have assured me that intrusive thoughts are also a symptom of creativity. Channeling my intrusive thoughts into creative expression and projects helps tremendously.
I'm adding my voice to the choir of, "Stay you and be creative!"
My thoughts are with you and your struggle. Just know you only worry and think about it because you care (e.g you don’t want them to be true).
Separate your thoughts. Once you get them in order and see the pattern, you'll be able to respond in a way that promotes your well-being.
When someone responds to me in a negative way consistently, I remind myself that I am responsible for what I say, how I respond and react. I am NOT responsible for what they say, do and react and respond. What this does is help me to choose a response that improves my well-being. Their usual response no longer fits, and sometimes it gets worse.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
