Sometimes it doesn't seem so modern. I've been in another asthma flare since last Saturday.

I had an anaphylactic reaction to almonds. I usally always read the label but mistakenly assumed that since another variety of the chocolate bar was safe that the one I had was safe. It said may contain almonds. My face swelled up and my throat became tight. I used my epi pen and went to the ER. They gave me Benadryl. I was there a few hours on a chair in the hallway because there were no rooms. We have a doctor shortage. The ER doctor would check on me. She said to take Benadryl for the next 24 to 48 hours. I get anaphylaxis from tree nuts, strawberries, peppers and CT contrast dye.

Yikes.i know of someone with a peanut allergy and had a reaction from sugar cookies.she didn't know there was peanuts in the cookies

Thanks. I'm losing a lot of weight and my hair is thinning. I eat liquids for lunch because of my stomach issues. I eat twice a day most days. Sometimes I will have a bowl of cereal or oatmeal for lunch. My blood pressure is no longer controlled by my medications. I'm waiting for my endocrinologist to talk to his colleagues and get back to me. I have a telephone appointment with my family doctor on the 26th.

No worries. No, I'm still losing weight, losing hair and getting cold sweats. My family doctor ordered lots of blood work which I will have on the 27th. I have to fast for 12 hours for the blood tests. I will have to wait 7 to 10 days for results unless my family doctor has them as stat. The weight loss is really concerning. I've been using boost plus calories or smoothies for lunch.

Still waiting blood test results I assume?
What a way to diet

I had the blood tests done today. It takes 7 to 10 days for the results to get back to my family doctor. My GI nor my endocrinologist have called me.

Sigh any good news from your drs yet

My family doctor's office closed yesterday and won't reopen until Tuesday. If my results are normal she won't call and will just have her receptionist call me. Still waiting on endocrinologist. I stopped taking vitamin D because it was making me feel worse and causing chest pain. I doubt I will hear from my GI until months from now.

I called my family doctor's office and her receptionist said that my family doctor had her put my blood test results in my file. She only does that if they're normal. I have to wait for my telephone appointment January 5th to talk to her about it. My endocrinologist and GI still haven't called back! I had an ischemic colitis attack on Monday. I'm going to try my endocrinologist at the end of the week. I may try my GI's office again but he doesn't take me seriously. He just says IBS and doesn't care! If my doctors could see me in person to see my hair loss and my weight loss they would care more!

I'm very sorry your Dr isn't giving you proper care.wish your area had more drs to choose from.

I've been in another asthma flare. :( I've been in it since Wednesday. It keeps getting worse. On the 14th is when I started having so much congestion and tightness in the morning that I couldn't make a sound. It took a while for my inhalers to help. Coughing and congestion all day despite following my yellow zone. Today is the 3 day like that so I started a 5 day 50mg burst of prednisone. I hope it's enough.
