On the main forum sometimes members do a check in thread-so instead of coming here to find nothing new has been added-I will have this thread so we can atleast say"we were here" and we left our little foot prints or cane prints...just don't leave any cat or dog droppings please-might begin smelling up the place!

you could move in with them-that might hurry them up

The A/C was put in last Monday. My appointment with my family doctor went well. I guess it wasn't kidney function labs it was labs used for nephrocalcinosis. They were all fine except for my parathyroid hormone level(PTH), calcium and vitamin D. My PTH is 34 and the upper limit is 7. My calcium is 3.7 and upper limit is 2.5. My vitamin D is very low but I can't take vitamin D because it makes my hyperparathyroidism symptoms worse. My doctor is sending an updated letter to the endocrinologist telling him about my nephrocalcinosis and lab results. She now understands that parathyroid surgery is the only thing that can help my nephrocalcinosis from becoming worse. I am going to be on a low dose of a diuretic/bp medication which will replace one of my bp medications. The diuretic can cause low potassium so I have to have it checked after I have been on the medication for two weeks. Also potassium rich foods. I can't eat bananas as they bother my stomach and it's the same with orange juice. I'm supposed to drink two liters of liquids a day. She mentioned eating lower sodium but I already avoid so many foods as it is. She thinks that the diuretic will help with the swelling I am getting on the bottom of my feet. If the endocrinologist hasn't seen me by the fall She will refer me to the surgeon without waiting any longer for him. She sent her last letter in 2017! Regardless I will be referred to a surgeon in another province.

After talking to the pharmacist I decided to stop taking HCTZ and to go back on my ramipril. HCTZ causes the body to hold on to calcium making calcium levels higher in the bloodstream. I left a message for my family doctor with her receptionist. My family doctor is out of the office until Monday. My doctor should have researched more!

I remember how my folks dr would look into a little book prior to writing out a prescription
DarknessEmbraced
My doctor looked online. She never looked at her little book.

probably a good sign when they do look it up because no one can remember everything

Yes, it is a good sign. My family doctor said pharmacist knows best so I'm off of the diuretic. I'm having problems with my feet swelling. Well the bottoms. I left a message for my family doctor's office to ask if a test to show my kidney function was ordered. Her office closed on Thursday and doesn't reopen until Monday.

Hmm guess we probably stick you with a pin to let the extra fluid drain out huh :)

I wish that would help. :(

Just like unplugging an computer does NOT fix its problems :(
DarknessEmbraced
Exactly.

Feels like I have accidentally stepped into a time machine and went back to days I don't want to repeat :(
DarknessEmbraced
I hope things get better for you!*hugs* There are many days that I would never want to repeat.

I had a growth removed from the back of my left hand(dominant hand) and it was sent to pathology. I get the 3 stitches removed next week a few days before we go on our trip. The freezing has worn off and my hand hurts. I have a round bandaid on it. The doctor said I should take the bandaid off to shower.
