Since we usually have more thank one ailment or sometimes our ailment doesn't attract enough members to an forum thread-please feel free to post your open ailment discussions here.
On the main forum sometimes members do a check in thread-so instead of coming here to find nothing new has been added-I will have this thread so we can atleast say"we were here" and we left our little foot prints or cane prints...just don't leave any cat or dog droppings please-might begin smelling up the place!

No, I found out that my family doctor sent a regular referral to the endocrinologist which is the reason that I still have many more months to wait. I was told my family doctor could call the endocrinologist's office to have me moved up the list or sent an urgent referral. My family doctor insists on seeing me but I can't see her until January 31st! She's out of the office for a week to be on call at the hospital! She does that once a month which is very annoying!

Yes, they do, I wish I lived somewhere with better doctors and more doctors. I've been dealing with hyperparathyroidism for years now.

Maybe you need to post an ad for your area asking for physicians to move there-play it up how great it is to live there :)

I wish that would work but it won't since it's the way the government pays doctors and limits their number and where they can practice that makes them not want to come here.

I'm not a football fan. My family doctor refuses to send a more urgent referral to the endocrinologist because she doesn't think it's urgent that I see him. So now I have to wait many more months. :( She doesn't know about calcium deposits in the kidneys so she has to research it. She said that she would have her receptionist call me sometime this week after she's had time research. So we will know whether my urine calcium levels need to be checked as well as my kidney function. Also she will tell me about ordering parathyroid hormone and blood calcium tests and the bone density scan. I'm not feeling well because my throat and chest hurt. Also I'm very hoarse.

Cough medicine time? I find it helps loosen chest even before the cough hits. Gee at this rate drs will be writing new medical books just on your ailments!

I don't need guaifenesin(expectorant syrup) because I don't have a lot of chest congestion. I use coughs drops but not cough medicine. That wouldn't surprise me.

I love how some brands/flavors of cough drops are so strong THEY make you cough

Yes it is funny that way. My family doctor didn't have her office call me and I doubt she will. I will just end up receiving an appointment slip in the mail to go for testing.
