I am a wife, a mom, a sister and now an ex daughter. I am a devout Catholic - and my faith heals me. I became a member of DS the summer I nursed my mom (ninety days) to her death from stage four lung cancer - I also inherited my older brother by (two years) who has many special needs - He has Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy and many developmental traits associated with brain damage; however, he was never diagnosed in detail - because he was born in \'61 and brain damaged is what they stamped on his file. My mom protected him from the world and now my husband and I choose to live with him and hopefully to the other side of his life as he matures into old age as well... so I am hopeful others here can help me. I am a recovering alcoholic (17 years) and have developed an anxiety problem when my mom got sick and am on meds...and I have severe back problems - - degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis and a congenital disorder where my spinal aperture is too small to house my cord. A few months after moms passing - was diagnosed with Hereditary Hemochromatosis; a disorder of the blood. Also as all this was spinning- I stopped menstruating, had to put my cat of 17 years down, hire attorneys to protect us from tenants in our CA home who destroyed our garden which took ten years to cultivate - we moved my husband\'s business (physically twice), our bookkeeper died, a week after a dear friend from college died only days after his 50th. Then my daughter moved out that year and just blurted her life to us in all it\'s hairy glory...a revolving door of boyfriends, jobs and apartments, and a few car accidents sandwiched in between. This summer of \'14 I said goodbye to a dear friend of 25 years - I spent weeks in NYC by his bedside and he died of prostate cancer in May. Then a few months later we went to visit yet another dear, close friend who is diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. Life just keeps on kicking is all I can say. But really I am a content person. I have a great husband and many friends who love and support me. I adore this life, pains and all. I know all of this is GIFT.
