  I have lied so much that I’ve forgotten what I’ve lied about. Just last night more lies came out and I don’t even know what to do. How do you say I’m sorry for the 500th time???   So last night I came clean with my wife. The thing is, although it was the truth, it was hurtful. I involved her family in our issues and kept it from her. Rightfully so, she was upset. She wants understanding of why I have continued to lie and withhold from her but quite frankly, I don’t understand it myself.   I would like to ask everyone why do you lie?  What do you get out of lying? Do you think about what you’re going to lie about or does it just come as a second nature to lie?

I drive myself crazy because I say I don’t want to but I continue to over and over again. When I lie it’s because I don’t want to face the consequences or be judged but once the lies come out, it’s 10 times worse.
