  So here I am. Major depressive disorder. I've had anxiety most of my life and some minor depression but nothing like this. I had no idea people could actually feel this bad and go on living every day. I feel empty isolated and terrified every day of my life. I can not eat and I cry all the time. I cant do daily living things and have had to ask for time off work. My kids are 10 and 9. I cant parent them. My husband juat wants me better - like I chose this. I have no idea what the hell is...

  My son's 9th birthday party is tomorrow and I'm dreading it. I feel guilty for dreading it because I love my kid. I want to be happy and excited to see him get this tarantula he's been wanting for years. To see his happy face but the reality is I feel dread, anxiety and sadness. I am going to fake it of course as much as I can. Any ideas? On a side note I've got to beat this. My kids need me.

  I am starting therapy next week but really want to consider medication too. I've tried a lot, but maybe didn't give them long enough to work. Please tell me about any experiences, good or bad, you've had with medication. I have anxiety all the time and panic attacks in the morning. Also depression. Thanks.
