  I know with God, all things are possible and miracles happen, but I feel hopeless.  My marriage was severely damaged by my lack of communication and lying/hiding issue, specifically about an emotional affair I had about 10 years ago.  I have begun applying the advice from this support group like when I make a mistake and lie, immediately correct it and I've started journaling, but I feel like my marriage is so damaged, I don't know if it's too late.  We literally have divorce paperwork...

  So I shared last week how my lying has affected my marriage.  I have kept many things hidden from my husband that recently surfaced, and I have continued to lie about things since then that aren't even as important.  Now he doesn't believe me when I tell the truth, and of course I don't blame him.   I never realized I had a problem until it started affecting my marriage about two years ago.  I lie and/or hide and cover up mistakes I make to avoid facing consequences.  I had an emotional affair about 10 years ago that I kept in until about two years ago when my husband began questioning me.  He was aware back then and knew all along something wasn't right, but I figured since it was long over, we didn't need talk about it.  When he began questioning me, I denied everything.
