We had matching bands so I had them solodered together and it works very well............wear it on either hand............

This is a fairly frequent topic (for those of us here six months or more). I still wear my wedding ring and will until I feel that I am not intimately connected with Joe. Everyone deals with this issue differently. Some create new rings and "widow's" rings which are a black stone setting. Others wear their husband's ring on a necklace around their necks. Everyone is different and we have to deal with this process in our own way. There is no right or wrong approach. I find that this is a very symbolic issue and we have to process our grief and that entails a physical approach to how we wear (or don't) the rings that represent our marriage relationship with that one we miss so much. my husband died april"11 I still wear my ring and his on my middle finger.. left hand and .they will stay there until I die. It gives me comfort to know he is still apart of my life. I'm making a new life for me..and finding out I really enjoy myself, don't need a mate to make my life complete....I feel that the vows we made when we wed "til death do us part" works for me and that means until I'm gone too. But I'm an old geezer and have no desire to remarry...When my Mom was my age after my Dad had been gone for about 3 years I once told her that my sis and I had no problem if she wanted to seek male company.....Then I got called by my first and middle name and knew I was in trouble. When she said "Guys my age all they are looking for is someone to take care of them...I would have caretaked you Dad forever but no one else. Now II know where she came from and wish she were here so I could tell her how sorry I was for being such a jerk...and not fully understanding her pain.

You can always have Darrell's ring resized if you want to wear it. It's a personal choice, no right or wrong, Just do what feels right for you.It's your life from here on out, just stop and think what do you want to do, not what others think you should do. Then make your decision...What ever you decide is right.

A ring is internal and external symbol of your commitment to your husband.
On a different stage of your acceptance and realization of change in your life and that relationship you will view symbols accordingly.

Take your time, and follow your own schedule, and your own perception, and you will find your answers.

I am so sorry to hear you are 5 months into the passing of your spouse. You must do what you feel most comfortable with. For a time I had both rings around my neck, thenI started wearing his. It fits on my 1st index finger on the left hand. I did what felt comfortable to me.

I lost my husband a little over six months ago in December, 2011. I still wear my wedding ring and have Jerry's ring on a necklace that I wear around my neck. Continuing to wear both rings brings me great comfort, and I feel both rings will always be phsyically close to me and my heart. Gary and I lost our wedding rings in a house fire. For our 25th anniversary/Christmas he gave me an anniversary ring. He knew how very much it meant to me. I wear that ring along with a widow's ring on my left hand. One represents the love we had here on earth, the other represents our love for eternity.

My Don has been gone 9 months. I continue to wear both our rings on my left hand. I still feel and think I always will, married.

I had my Mike's ring resized and wear both his and mine on my right index finger. Having them there is right for me. You have to find what's comfortable for you. You'll know when you're ready. Peace to your heart.

I wear mine and will probably never take them off. They represent presence for my kids. I think divorced people should remove their rings...not widowed unless you are looking to move on to another relationship. That is the last thing I want. I have 20 years ahead till the last child is out of college and I have no time for that. As for altering the rings and making something else from them.....no. I like to keep it real.

Took of my wedding ring because it made me sad. I keep wearing my engagement ring because we are still very much "engaged".
Seeing it on my hand takes me back to a simpler time when a handsome soldier gave it to me with a promise to love me forever.

Ar three months i took mine to a jeweler and had them melt them together, and make emblems for each side of the ring symbolizing the most important things to he and I. I've worn it on my right hand ever since. the left for me was too much when I'd look at it and for survival, I did it.

You will KNOW what it is you want to do when the time is RIGHT FOR YOU to do it. some wear their rings on the left hand always, some around their necks, some make them into a pendant, some keepsake for a child getting married to hand the love down.

there is NOR RIGHT OR WRONG when it comes to SURVIVING THIS and that INCLUDES how you choose to wear your rings...or not.

My Reggie died almost 5 months ago also. I still wear my wedding ring and aniversary ring. I had his resized to fit on my left thumb. This is my personal choice. You have to decide what is best for you.

I first put his ring on a chain that I got him and he wore all the time. Then I worried someone might grab it off my neck to get the ring.

So I still wear the chain and have his ring unde rmy ring on my left hand. Feel good there.
