Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

I want to let you know what you are going through is normal. You are going through a crazy, traumatic experience. Living with grief was by far the hardest thing that I experienced in my life. Be gentle with yourself.
Hugs
Lisa

Don’t be hard on yourself, you need time to process this. Hugs
We never get over it but we will get through it.
Praying for you,
Judy
My world and all of our plans shattered in moments. I do know what you're going through. And the feelings of utter pointlessness. Those will pass. It will be hell for awhile, but slowly you will start to regain some strength and start to realize that there is still some purpose(s) for you here. It is different for each of us, and it doesn't happen over night, but you will figure it out.
I am 10+ years from that awful day. I still miss him, but grief is not in control of my life. I am accustomed to missing him. But missing him has not stopped me from rebuilding my life, finding happiness, finding purpose, and love finding me again -- all of which I believed to be impossible when I was where you are now. In my darkest moments, I thought of ending it all, but I would tell myself, "Not today." After enough of 'todays', I was all right. And I am glad that I did not give up and give in to the despair - I would have missed so very much. It has absolutely been worth it to keep going.
I am sorry for your loss and the toll it is taking on you. There are hotlines you can call if you need to speak to someone:
"If ever you are feeling despondent, suicidal, or simply in need of speaking with someone about your problems, please be aware that there are numerous hotlines with trained operators available to help you.
