I am not a christian or any religion. i take in to accounts of different philosophies and thats it. But i dont see how your religion should ever influence your coping mechanisims. those who tell you, you have sealed your fate, have a less understanding of the bible then i do, as far as i am concered. Because i believe jesus talked immesnly about forgivness.
I am sure, a cut or cutting would not have jesus enternally damn your soul, i think everytime you cut or anyone of his "children," (i put that in brackets out of respect for believers and non-believers) that he cries, and cries tears of sadness pain and wants to help you, but he knows you know that you can always turn to him at any moment, and he will welcome you.
cutting has nothing to do with religion, its a personal choice, a coping mechanism. thats a choice you have made, and they can judge you all they want, i think in the end, the one who's opinion ccounts the most for you, is Jesus and Gods . . . i hope i got that right.
dont let others selfish and ignorance hurt you more. they are merely ignorant to the world that is around you and them. at least you can see the truth.
keep fighting my dear.

dw about it- i go to a christian school too and they say i'm not truly christian because i cut myself. They say i'm breaking the rule that my body is a "temple" but i dont listen to them. I know in my heart what i believe and as long as i know the truth- thats all that matters. My parents recently found out about my SI and they dont take it very seriously either... So dont worry- your not alone! I'm here for you if you ever need to talk.
Much love- xox
who are they to say who is going to hell (which i don't believe in a hellfire anyways but that is me) Is not God the only one who can judge?
God sees the pain and anguish we are in, and he is there to comfort us. Bible witter Paul wrestled with a thorn in the flesh. I think the Bible does not say what exactly it was so that when we are suffering from illness or self inflicted anguish we can have comfort in knowing that God helped Paul, he will help us too.
God is the hearer of prayer. there are no conditions on that - we just have to want him to hear us.
I am very strong Christian, i follow the Bible closely as i can. But sometimes my love for God and my Love for my family is not enough to stop the pain and anguish i put upon my self.
When I slip back to the SI coping strategy I never feel condemned by God. I remember the line "a bruised reed he will not break" When people are judging, be it about SI or anything else I remember the verse warning the proud that "whoever causes one of these little ones to fall would be better to tie a rock round their neck and jump in the lake!"
How you deal with inner pain and turmoil is a matter of choice and habit. SI isn't an ideal coping strategy. In an ideal world maybe we would all stop - or never start. However, we do start and stopping is very difficult, and God is with us in that struggle.
i go to church to and have since i was first born but only my closest friends there know and they dont criticise me for it and i think that is how church is supposed to be!!
When I first told my youth pastor, I KNEW he was a cutter when he was younger and he had dealt with lots of things like this, so he was really understanding and REALLLLLLY helped me make it through everything.
im a christian and i cut. i do believe that cos i sh i was pushing christ out of my life but thats jst me it doesnt mean he left me. i know that he helped me thru all the bad times. but what i needed to do ti allow the holy ghost come to me. was to ask for forgiveness and to ask for help to forgive myself. i think somweone mentioned earlier about our bodies being a temple. well thats what always made me feel so guilty. i was grateful that gor gave me this body but i didnt know how to cope. instead of trusting him and asking him for help i sh. but now i feel stronger and i know that he has forgiven me i dnt cut as much now. well in the last 4 months i cut once. i think sorrow and guilt stopps us from knowing the true love that we all deserve.
