Staying indoors because of the cold does not help at all. The long dark days seem to make things more gloomy.

I live in Minnesota (it would help me to read where people live so I can make sense of the weather/month connection), and it snows starting in October and ending in April. January is the coldest. The problem is that I don't recover from the winter when it warms up so gradually- I need a solid hot hit of it (I sound like a drug user! lol) from the summer heat to feel better.
Sigh... February. That has to be my answer.
