What's your worst month for S.A.D.?
Mine is February. It's thankfully the shortest month because for a period of years I was completely non-functional during it. Couldn't pay bills, had a hard time getting to school or work, or out of bed. Didn't want to go out and see friends, or have any visitors. I want to sleep all the time or curl up in blankets and read or watch tv.
The cat I had for years was a couch potato, but the one I have now is like Tigger -- bouncing everywhere and talking non-stop. I imagine this winter will be different...
Take care, Mo

For the past few months I've been trying to seek treatment. it took many years to finally pick up the courage and see a doctor. The only reason why i refused to see one is because i had a feeling that i was just going to be disappointed. it turns out i was right. I've seen about 5 Different doctors and took 2 MRI's within the last three months and still can't find one who is willing to do surgery...

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I used to love Christmas :(
It is so important to make it an over-all plan of wellness. Like some of you have mentioned, it is very important to get as much light as possible even without a light box. Leeall, there are special light bulbs you can buy to use in a lamp while sitting at the computer that might help you. They are much less expensive than the box. They may not produce the same results, but can help where you are concerned. The key is to stay well enough not to trigger depression.
I will post later about what I have done to try to prevent being triggered in a seperate thread.
Blessings to all of you for a happy and healthy winter ahead. Hugs
Just don't like cool or cold weather.
Then comes New Year's Eve, and the ritual of a warm mug of cider in front of a fire. The fire is electric these days, but the toast at midnight still seems to work to clear out the mind. The next day seems a little better, more forward looking.
January becomes a month of inner searching and yes I hate the cold too. In February, I start actively thinking about the garden and what I'm going to plant.

I try and keep myself positive, read my bible or a positive story, watch happy movies. I love Christmas and I so look forwards to it, but it zapps me right out!
Glad I finally joined this group. Alwasy nice ot know were not alone!
This time of year all of the tree loose their leaves the grass turns yellow and the flowers die so it is cold, windy, and everything looks dead. The sun never seems to shine. At least when if finally snows the snow is bright. I also usually recover with family during Christmas but this year I will not be able to go see anyone since my husband and I are going to be traveling. So who knows how long the sadness will last this year.
