It might be related if the headaches started right after starting xarelto. I take xarelto but never had a headache from it. Your pharmacist could tell you if it's considered a side effect, if it is, is it temporary, etc.

If it's a severe headache, like unimaginable pain,then you'd want to see your doc.

I would also make sure you are getting sleep, staying hydrated, etc too because not getting adequate sleep, dehydration, stress, etc can also prompt headaches

I was on Xarelto for a year and some change for a clot in my calf and now I'm back on it for a minor bilateral PE.

I feel like I know Xarelto well and I can't say that I've suffered from headaches due to the medication.

As mentioned before by RMB.....consult your doctor regarding headaches and I would suggest to be strong mentally.

The mind can be tricky after a dvt or PE so just know you are ok.

Hi Missy, when I first started Xarelto last December I had sharp pain headaches and tingling in my head for about 4-5 days or so. After that I was fine and I'm still on it. Maybe my body needed to adjust, but I certainly had some strange effects for about a week or so.

I've noticed that I need to drink a lot of water while I'm taking xarelto because I feel like I'm dehydrated from it. If I don't drink enough water during the day and then go to bed, I wake up with a terrible headache the next day. So make sure you are staying hydrated : )

I just started Xarelto after being diagnosed with a PE in the ER last Friday. Have been feeling weird and head has been tingling a little too. Also now have a minor headache. Bumped my head on a bunk bed very slightly as I sat up last night, So now I'm super nervous that my brain is bleeding or something, but I'm hoping all of this is just adjusting to the meds .

Any headache that is extreme or persistently stays should be discussed with your family Dr.
You will have headaches come and go. It was also true for myself about the need to drink more and stay hydrated while on that medication.
Write down all your symptoms including intensity and duration for your Dr.
I had to come off this medication and also had my PE after being treated for pre menopausal symptoms with hormones. It put me at high risk to hemorrhage and I needed a medication with a fast antidote. While I experienced every side effect listed I waited too long with intense menstral blood flow and by the time the medication was out of my system I needed a blood transfusion. The headaches will come and go you can second guess your body and try drinking more to help just don’t ignore heavy bleeding when it comes to mensuration.

I recently had multiple blood clots in my lungs so much so the the right side of heart had hard time pumping. After receiving clots busters in stomach I’ve been on Xarelto 2x a day for 3 eeeks snd now 1x a day.. I’ve experienced head aches too...It’s uncomfortable sleeping because of leg pain still and I wonder if others also have some leg pain.. Also I have what’s called leg paint that happens when I stand for long period of time ... I do wear a compression sock
