Don't we all? It's Sunday evening, and I'm going out in the world tomorrow to go to the school where I'm lucky enough to have a job. I can see the faces of those I'll meet. I know this one will ask me for an encouraging word, and that one will ask me to lend an ear, and the other one will want a ride home in the afternoon. I'm so honored to be needed by them, I know it's a privilege.
But after last Thursday's pain episode, I'm still tired myself. It triggered my PTSD and took a bite out of me, and over the weekend I didn't get all of my groove back, shall we say.
So I post here about it. Don't know why, but it helps. And don't we all need that little something extra?
I find some strength out of nothing in solidarity here with friends who know how much it takes to muster the energy to function with PTSD. I hope everybody else does, too. I hope the week begins ok for everybody. I'm tired, but I know we all are, and we lean on each other somehow.
Here's hoping for a good week for us all.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Leave your super cape on your pillow and be lovingly gentle with yourself until you do get ALL your groove back. Lots of extra self-care.
Hope you have a restful week.
I hope your week goes as well as possible.
IMagine you are receiving fuel in your tank from each reply....every word is some sunlight on the solar panels of the soul....
OK, I really need more sleep, but I hope you know what I meant:-)
Blessings and purrrrrrrs,

Here's to having a more restful week.
I wonder if you could experiment with receiving from your students. I know that whenever someone reaches out to you with an explicit expression of gratitude or esteem you are very happy and heartened. But in all the small daily interactions like the ones you mentioned in the OP, I think something comes back to you too - probably many times a day. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious - I just don't know, with your PTSD defenses, if the good stuff that routinely comes at you gets through? Probably it does ... I hope so!
I wish I could take a break between holidays, however my daughters birthday is next weekend so this is my busiest time of year... After making 8 Halloween costumes, it's time for me to clean the fabric out and start with the party planning and cake baking, and as soon as that's over it's time to plan for the thanksgiving feast... I'm very tempted to not host thanksgiving this year... Ever since my daughter was born I have been the thanksgivings destination for friends and friends family as well, since I don't have my own family in my life. But I'm exhausted as well Muji and could use a break...!!! No rest till after the big pony party next weekend!
Been a week of building emotional triggers here. But I have to get back in the groove too. I hope I can set it all aside for the work that needs to be done this week.
Today I have FOUR, students come by during the office hour, though. It was really fun. I got a couple of student emails, too. Just from students who were adding something of their own to the mix after death and dying class.
It is nice to let my students give back, you all were right. It really helps keep functioning with my PTSD and flashbacks in the workplace. It's amazing how such a serious psychology class can turn into something positive for us all. We should rename it life and living class. Ha!
Hope the week goes on well for us all.
