Hubby not so perfect... sigh
yadlim
I adore my hubby. We have been best friends for decades... and sometimes his brains fall out. Sigh.
The Pain Management doctors won't work on my meds until I have done the sleep test for sleep apnea... turns out they called him to make an apt three weeks ago and knowing it would stress me, he did not make an apt. Sigh. So now I have four days to get in to do this test and for them to get the results to the pain management clinic or I have to wait a full month again before they will do anything. The sleep test is going to suck... they won't let him stay there and my Service Dog is too young to hold it for 12 hours, and since I won't be able to walk her, she can't be there either.
That means I am going to panic. Not much can be done about it. I will, at some point, curl up in the fetal position in a corner and scream until I pass out. Once I am out, I am sure they can get wonderful data on how I breath. I will never be able to go back into the building - but them is the breaks. Without this test, the pain management group won't fix my pain meds. I can't live like this much longer. I just don't have the strength.
So tomorrow morning he is going to call to see if we can get this done before my apt on the 8th...
I know I have breathing issues... but they do not stem from sleep apnea. They stem from the doctor screwing up my throat surgery two years ago compounded with my muscle spams in my back shutting down my diaphragm. Sigh.
Here is hoping that this works out. Going to have to tickle hubby for not making the apt for me.

Gentle support to you, whichever the SNAFU works itself out.
Have I mentioned how much I love him? He is a dork who has been out of work for three years, but the love of my life!
Healing and supporting vibes to you, because wow, that sounds pretty rough, but we know you will conquer:-)
I can't imagine it's good for you to have you go through so much trauma for the test. Could hubby be just outside your room and have pup with you until you fall asleep and then hubby can take care of pup? Could you bring some of those pads for the dog so he can pee on the pad if he needs to go during the night? Can you take a xanex or have a hypnosis session or something? Can they do the sleep study in a more comfortable environment like your home?
I also wonder if you would want to look into alternative medicine for pain issues? I have been having horrible arthritis lately and I found a clinic that tests for a specific gene mutation. Turns out I have it. My MD tried me on pain meds without a great deal of success. I have just started folate (a B vitamin) and have zero side effects and my joints are already starting to feel a bit better.
Acupuncture, herbs, vitamins, etc. may be alternatives for pain management.
They want me to check in at 8pm then be released at 8am. They can't legally make me give up Misha - but at 10 months old, she can't hold her bladder for 12 hours. At 100lbs, she is too big to use a puppy pad. I think hubby is right. I don't think it is worth it.
Either the pain clinic will work with me without it, or I will follow other avenues.
I have tried a lot of the alternative medicines. Some with good success, others not so much. Right now all I can afford is what the VA gives out... sigh.
The day I am perfect I can tell everyone else that they are not. Since this is not going to happen I will try to be as positive as I can I guess.
Ok, gotta stop, laughing too much about your post.
Thanks. That would work. He is actually a much better alert dog than Misha, Also, at just 45 lbs, he is not scary at all. He would just curl up under the covers with me (like he does every night) and go to sleep.
thank you Lilly!!! There is no time for the test between here and my pain clinic apt, but if they are going to make me do it, I now have a way I can!!
yadlim and critter for all occasions!
