I have been diagnosed with ptsd and it drives me crazy deals with me like I am perfectly normal. I am an incest survivor and nobody wants to acknowledge it and behave with me as though nothing has happened. I am done with expecting anything from my mother. She makes everrything about herself. I try to move on and be as emotionally detached as I can be from her but it is so difficult. I feel like I am the crazy one.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Nor did I get to walk away from that insanity without quite a few crazy ticks from it that the folks still caught in that insanity can't possibly understand. The fact that I am in therapy is *proof* that I am the crazy one.
Round and round and round it goes, ad infinitum. . .
I jumped that not-so-merry-go-round by giving up the expectation that my birth family can understand and developing a therapy support network where folks will at least TRY to understand. Along that course, I have come to believe I don't always understand so well, myself. Works in progress. . .
You are not alone, Mana. It's allot to sort. Gentle support while you sort.
LOL! My lesson learned with my mom: My healing had to come from within. When my mom found out about what dad was doing, she became almost an automaton-she worked, paid bills, but there was little emotion, conversation or relationship. As I finished high school and married, she dealt in her own way with various boyfriends living in our house. She is now in her 5th marriage, wanting me to call him my step dad. Nope, I'm an adult, this is your husband. I realized my healing had to be my choice. We don't spend many holidays together as I have chosen my husband and kids to spend time with. She has made many choices over the years to miss out on events with my kids, so they don't have much love for her. We have all learned to be cordial, only doing occasional visits about 4 times a year, but usually not very long. So, do what you need to and take care of yourself. You can do this! Prayers for strength.
