Phobia Support Group
A phobia (from the Greek "fear"), is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities, or persons. The main symptom of this disorder is the excessive, unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. When the fear is beyond one's control, or if the fear is interfering with daily life, then a diagnosis under one of the anxiety disorders can be made.

One of the books that I have read and continue to recommend to others is "When Panic Attacks" by David Burns, MD. The book features a number of self tests and exercises that may help with coping techniques. Check out your local library to screen the book and then purchase like I did once I realized the book is an absolute "keeper."
Flying in a plane

Being eaten alive by a large animal.
Worse yet, being SWALLOWED by a large animal, like a shark or whale, and slowly being digested before I've had the chance to die of other causes, like drowning.
Dying...before I've had a chance to realize my true greatness, brilliance, whatever that may be.
Living a life of mediocrity, or what I perceive as mediocrity.
