Hello,
My name is Keith I'm 31 years old and I've been having panic attacks for 4 years. They have recently escalated to near all day events. I'm exhausted I don't eat unless I force myself I haven't had a bath in 2 or 3 weeks which I know is terrible but I'm afraid to be honest I haven't left my house in weeks I try to think positively and exercise I'm currently on xanax and prozac but I don't think they are working for me well the xanax for sure is. My feet won't stop sweating my heart is pounding I feel like I can't breathe and the hot flashes are getting out of control I'm starting to spiral out of control and taking very poor care of myself I feel like I have no where to turn so I'm writing this in the hopes someone can help me figure this out it would be nice to at least be clean again. And FYI I don't do any drugs and I do not drink.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...
Well you have very severe problems.
With most Anxiety sufferers usually Depression goes along with it.
There's many types of Anxiety. If I had to guess, I would say, yours is GAD. General anxiety, which covers a heck of a lot of things.
You haven't left your house or bathed in weeks? You must have a wife or family that helps you out financially?
With Anxiety, most people happen to dwell on something.
You have a fear of going out? Or about falling in a shower?
Obviously your not seeing a therapist. (They don't usually make house calls). But it may be time to think of seeing someone.
Try taking a walk at night. Its cooler and even if its down an apartment hallway, its getting out. If your in a house, walk in your front or back yard.
I hope your at least taking some bird baths. Try standing in your shower with your clothes on. Then without clothes. Leave the shower curtain/door open. Little by little take your clothes off and run the water. Trust me, if your not living in France..... Take a shower!
No one, not even a therapist can make you do what needs to be done. YOU have to tell yourself your being silly. (,That's not meant sarcastically). Reason with yourself and try to over come some of those obstacles.
Listen to soft music. Watch only comedy/lite movies and shows.
Try to exercise a bit, and release the endorphins you need to feel good. Stay away from ALL sugars. Even the fake sugars.
Relax, evaluate and make small changes.
I'm experiencing almost the exact same thing as you right now, I've been having what seems like never ending panic attacks for more than 3 weeks now, some days are better than others and then there are days that are just unbearable and I just can't take it anymore, I know what you mean about showering, I have days where the thought of taking a shower is terrifying as if it's a dangerous task. I am hopeful though that there is relief somewhere.. I hope in some way you find some comfort in knowing you're not alone!...
