Today my brain decided freeze up again, so I thought I'd laugh instead of cry. Please feel free to add...
You know you have cog fog when you search for 10 minutes for.an ink pen only to.realize you have one behind.both ears and one hanging on your neckline..
You put your groceries in your car and panic because you can't find your keys and you close the door to go back in the grocery only to realize you left them in the car door . How i could have even gotten into my locked car without my keys isn't even something I thought about...
You give the floor hugs because they are lonely...
You speak in cursive and you are working on a PhD in gibberish.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

For extra wild moments, have a conversation with a friend who has MS. Just hilarious !
Do you ever walk into a room with some purpose in mind, only to completely forget what that purpose was?
Turns out, doors themselves are to blame for these strange memory lapses.
Psychologists at the University of Notre Dame have discovered that passing through a doorway triggers what's known as an event boundary in the mind, separating one set of thoughts and memories from the next.Your brain files away the thoughts you had in the previous room and prepares a blank slate for the new locale.
Thank goodness for studies like this. It's not my MS, it's that damn door!
Love how those things happen to make you feel so smart!
You go to write your name to sign in for physio... and the receptionist in the /back room/ has to remind you of what it was with that jovial "...you forgot your name, didn't you?" eye twinkle.
I have to admit - I now have this theory about "cog fog." It's not MS that causes it. In my case, anyway, it's that nasty-looking Medicare card in my wallet and my gray hair!
It's just a by-product of an inflated collection of birthdays!!!
(You guys are beyond cool. I love and admire your courage and humor!!)
I have used this study a lot to justify why I am not getting stuff done.
1) While in the car heading out of town with a friend we stop to buy a soda for the road at a local drive in. I grab my purse, take my wallet out and sit it in my lap.... and then PANIC when I reach into my purse for my wallet and it is gone! :o) While I was saying 'I don't have my wallet, I can't believe I forgot my wallet!!' my friend gently says 'It's in your lap, Lisa'
LOL
2) Yesterday, my mom (who has dementia) asked me what I was doing in the kitchen. So I said "Oh nothing, just filling my glass with ice and CHEESE (I meant tea)".
The funniest part was that I didn't realize my mistake and she pointed it out to me!
We laughed about that one all day and although she can't remember much these days, she is still teasing me about it today! :o)
I choose to laugh at these things. There seems to be nothing we can do about it and laughing is so much better than crying!
