Weekly Weigh-In (June 1) Fat Has Purpose

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a major role in our daily health. The article is titled Rapid Weight Loss Causes Diabetes and Liver Disease. I'll try to post a link here:

Remember the (5) S’s for Weighing:
♦ Same TIME of day
♦ Same DAY each week
♦ Same CLOTHING
♦ Same SCALE — and remember, sometimes the scale doesn’t budge, but the waistline does
♦ Same SELF-COMPASSION

This sure helps me stay focused on the idea that creating and maintaining health is really about our healthy habits for a healthy lifestyle.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
