i have had RRMS since Nov. 2006
Symptoms:
failure to empty my bladder
Pins and needsles on right side of body
numbness on thighs
tingly and crampy hands
spastic legs
ataxia
four throat infections and an ear infection that is barely going away
wired sensation in my ears and face
double vison
FATIGUE- Bad
trouble speaking and finding the right words
short term memory loss
Clumsiness
incordination when walking
Vetrtigo...

hello everyone, I am new here. I have problems listing to the right when I walk, sometimes my voice cracks, I sound like a teenage boy when his voice starts to change, sometimes my balance is off if I turn my head to the side to fast or I look up to the sky. I've had other symtons but thats all for now so if you are ever out and about and see a woman in her late 50's Staggering to the right and voice squeaking,and looking upwards, don't worry I am not drunk just fighting the ms monster. Ya'll have a great afternoon. The more humor you have with this the better you and your family feel.

Ditto, that's so strange b/c my balance problems are the exact same as yours...I tend to want to "fall/lean" to my right when I walk (somewhat better lately, but I still do this), and when I turn my head to fast, or look up, I feel like I'm spinning to the ground...to the right! The only things I can add to this now lengthy list is feeling overwhelmed by my emotions weith difficulty controlling my responses , a tendency to lurch into someone if she/he is walking beside me (It doen't matter which side) and under the heading of cognitive issues, an inability to catch jokes.

I am not sure if these things have been mentioned: urinary tract infections, difficulty organizing myself and thoughts, spasticity in legs, skin breakdown on my feet from lack of sensation (like pressure sores), social withdrawl, "tight band syndrome" which is like the MS hug, but the tight sensation is in my thighs and digestive problems (constipation etc.). My good friend with M.S. has had hearing loss that is supposedly related.

Trying not to repeat other listed symptoms; if do, please excuse:

-nystagmus (rapid eye movement) + pain behind eyes
-nausea + gassy
-anxiety & depression for no reason
-unusual skin sensations (itching, painful when touched, hot & cold feelings)
-overly sensitive facial skin (allergic to all products + rash forms when slightly overheated or hot water touches face)
-can't be exposed to hot water (shower, bathtub, hottub, & even washing/rinsing dishes in hot water - hands will go numb)
-ringing and buzzing sounds in ears (comes & goes)
-periods of excessive hair loss
-painful & weak arm/leg muscles
-legs slow to move after sitting
-total body shutdowns (aka complex partial seizures) when overstimulated via stress, insomnia, heat, & light/sound patterns
note: symptoms flare prior to monthly periods

I mainly get a wobbly unsteady feeling when standing still. As long as I am moving, I'm good,but I lose all sense of equilibrium when standing still. Vertigo and intense shooting pains in my head. I unlike many have not had eye issues(I even had a dr tell me in the beginning, It could't be MS because I didn't have eye probs.)Terrible shooting pains in my side.

P.S. I always have a Psedo-flare two days before my period starts.(Glad to see I'm not the only one)

Great idea! The other while driving, I bent my head down and the top of my neck, the base of my skull, went numb but with pressure. I grabbed the back of my head because it so surprised me but it left very quickly. Didn't hurt just went numb! When laying down to rest my legs disappear..well they don't really but I have to concentrate to move my toes to make sure my legs are still there! Other than not having the loss of sight, I have had most of the symp everyone else does. I hate the walking into people thing...very embarrassing!

Hello, now I don't have MS but the guy that I am seeing does. I think the only thing I could add is that he sweats uncontrollably. But I have a question. Gregg is alwaya asking to go sit in the hot tub. Do you all say that the hot water worsens it? Also how many of you are bound to a wheel chair?

well, I got one I dont think I ve seen. dont know if its MS related but...I get this electrical "zap" mostly in my spine, about the same place thoracic/lumbar line. I have noticed its positional, have never felt it while standing, mostly sitting upright , but felt it semi-reclined or laying (dont remember which, imagine that) the other day. it feels like a tiny electrical shock, not painful, not even annoying, just there. and also to day my sciatic in my left leg was acting up. used to have that problem, but not for a lonnnnggg time. and by the way repeat all you would like, dont know why I said that ;)

This is a great idea. Recently I have had what I can only describe as temporary loss of function in my leg. When I go to get up, or make a movement with my leg, I can FEEL the paralysis start, and my leg will not move. If I'm standing I either fall, or sit myself down, Last week I was driving with my daugher and when I went to use the brake, my leg went completely numb and wouldnt' move! It only lasts for about a minute, but wow.......has anyone experienced this??

My dx came just 3 weeks ago, but symptoms I haven't seen mentioned are tingling and burning sensation on the underside of my toes ( I thought before the dx I was just on my feet too long!) and pain and tingling below my right shoulder that comes and goes. Had this one for several years, and always thought it was residual pain from shingles I contracted about 10 years ago. Am now experiencing vertigo at the most inopportune times, double vision that lasted a few months, and some problems where I am trying to complete a sentence and sometimes just blurt out nonsense instead of the word I mean. I know it's the wrong word, but it comes out anyway! MS is like Forest Gump's box of chocolates!!!

Charyl, I've made that same statement on here before about my symptoms....like Forest Gump's "box of chocolates"! LOL

Brokermel, I've done this several times....it was about 3-4 months ago. It was scary for me too, only mine lasted about 15-20 minutes. It was my right foot/leg too, the one I needed to drive with. I could still use my foot/leg, but they were completely numb, and it's like they weren't even there. I couldn't even tell if I was pushing on the gas/brake pedal or not. I only knew by how my vehicle responded. That was really strange to say the least. I haven't done that since then, and hope that I never do. But like the "box of chocolates"; we never know what "symptom" we're going to get from day to day. ~Tonya
