I've had sleep-walking episodes since I starting having to use an in-out catheter in 2012. I have two or three such episodes annually. They're harmless episodes. The first one that I recall was having a dream that I needed to go to the washroom and to get there had to walk through a room with a complicated floor plan (we have no such room in our house). I decided I should make a record of that floor plan for future use. I sort of 'woke up' in the washroom but still didn't understand, until I opened the washroom door, that the house in my dream wasn't our house and that I'd been sleep-walking. During this episode, I fetched a clean catheter, went to the washroom and used the catheter properly.
My latest one was, as I lay in bed, finding that I had one of my wax ear plugs (I always use these) clutched in my right hand. I thought this was chewing gum, put it in my mouth and started chewing it. I was surprised that it had no flavour. (By the way, I never chew gum.) After a while I found it unpleasant, took it out, and reconstructed, more or less, what had happened.
My thought is that having to use a catheter somehow twigs toilet-training memories, deep and remote. Comments? Lorraine.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

Last two nights I've dreamed water-related. I use a ball jar with the markings on it so I can keep track of the amount of water I drink daily. I dreamed that the jar, filled with water, slipped out of my hands and crashed onto the floor. Night before I dreamed that I jumped feet first into the ocean and where I'm normally a good swimmer, I sunk too far down to have any depth perception or strength to get anywhere near the surface. It was scary but at the moment of panic, I woke up.
Very interested on the strange floor plan for the wash room in your dreams, did you sketch it?
