So good to hear from you!! Praying that they will soon get rid of this nasty infection (it is true, if you are looking for an infection, the hospital is the best place!) and get your pain meds working better for you. So good to hear that there is progress, though!

Geez it sounds like you are having a rough time of it - So sorry to hear! I hope you are feeling better soon and able to entertain yourself somewhat while there. The boredom can be as unbearable as the pain sometimes. Hugs!

You are all so right about boredom being as bad, should say it's more restlessness too. Not used to being confined to bed/chair either. Still can't walk far but it's a small improvement on yesterday.
So annoyed with myself for getting in bed & set up without the bell & lights on. Nurse came past so got it done. Thank goodness got volume at the moment.

The vre germ I have that means nurses & dr's gown & single room is thanks to survey here 2010. Apparently once you have it, got it for life. Soon as they look me up on computer they put sign up & keep saying "this lady has vre" taken straight in. Lol. At least I know I will get seen.

Dr's saw me today, not changing anything till tomorrow -day3 & then will have to increase either tegretol or tegretol. I don't care which, just want to walk without pain every step.

Forgot to say no tv in room. Some wards don't have it at all & this is one. When tv is available it costs about $8-10 a day.

Praying for you, and hoping you are feeling better soon. How scary for you, and I can't imagine what your days are like. We are all out here for you though and cheering you on! Take care and keep us informed.... we definitely care and want you healthy again soon!

geepers I didnt reread las posts, germ is due to surgery not survey (wonder what that brought to mind when reading)???.
Anyway Dr's increased meds again, have written to local gp. Saw podiatrist who cut nails & stuck padding stuff on the sre foot in hope it would help me walk a bit better. It feels funny & unbalanced to start with. She said to continue the boot as it supports the foot & keeps the toes confined so they can't move. Not happy with that as summer here & it is very hot to wear.
Dr's decided they weren't really doing much for me in there so would send me home on Wednesday afternoon.
I then had social worker to offer some shower help & extra home care (short term), physio did an assessment on my walking & said 10metres is max I can walk so p'd off with that for sure as it is basically from lounge to bedroom with walker.
I had people in & out of room organising discharge papers, letter to Dr, certificate for work etc.
I was mentally done in by the time they wheeled me to front door to go home as hubby had turned up.
I am glad to be home. Foot is still very painful to walk on, boot still on & increasing of pain tablets constantly till get right balance.
On wait list to see orthopaedic dr, that could take ages & patiece is not my virtue.

Glad you're home. Had to wear one of those boots once. What a clumsy thing! How do they expect a healthy person to have good balance much less a person with MS to have any kind of balance wearing one of those Herman Munster shoes?

I'm wearing flip flops and it's winter here now because I had part of my big toenail removed to the nail bed so I understand your shoe dilemma.

Hope you continue to improve and please stay away from hospitals. Those places can make you sick :)

Thank again everyone, I am overwhelmed with how much support you guys have all given to me while I have been struggling & in hospital. I really appreciate it more than I can say.

On to today & my foot has decided to add another feeling, the underneath is now burning big time like it is on fire.
My speech has gone real bad, can't get a lot of words out, my speech is slow & slurred. Feel like crap with pain driving me bad. Looks like ms is going to flare up too simply from pain. Feel like can't take a trick.
Got an appt next month at a clinic to help with overall management of pain & medical conditions & medications. Pleased with that as tried before & didn't get referal.

Can you get treatment more quickly if you're having an ms flare? With your symptoms it does sound like the ms is flaring up and it would be nice to get some help with that before it gets worse. Take care and God bless. Will keep you in my thoughts. Glad you're out of the hospital sounds like that was not a fun ordeal. I always feel better at home in my own bed or recliner. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Probably if I was having a ms flare could get diff attention but I doubt it would help my foot. I am not going to report to hospital with a possible ms flare when I don't think it's a bad one at all. I also don't want to have a flare this close to starting Gilenya & we are going on a cruise in March too.
