I have not been here for a few weeks.
around 5 weeks ago it felt I had a bladder infection not abnormal I have a super-pubic catheter. When they sent it away it came back as growing two different bugs they gave a list of four anti-biotic that would kill each one.
I live in a long term hospital & my doc came to see me & told me that yes there is infections but I am allergic too all of the antibiotics on the list & there was nothing they could do.
For about 4 weeks I have been hooked up to an IV and getting med's to calm my tummy. Last week it suddenly got worse.
I then started to get a fever around 100-102 not too bad.
Then last Friday night my temp in the night went to 105 I got ice packs & Tylenol I got a bit better then Sat morning my fever spiked to 105 & they sent me to the main hospital when I got there my temp was 106.
They did some testing & it was a bladder infection that went to my kidney then it got into my blood.
I am still very sick but on the mend.
It is funny but my MS symptoms are getting worse as well my doc thinks it is the stress on my body.
I had arranged my Hubby to go on vaca to see his Son.
We live in Ont Canada & his Son Nova Scotia
it was a planned trip
I was starting to get sick before he left but the worst of it he was away.
He just got back earlier today but was very tired & I was just going to go back to sleep so I told him to come tomorrow.
it sucks to be sick alone.
Anyway I am getting IV antibiotics & fluids & a few other meds through the IV as well.
I never knew you could get sooo sick from a UTI
I am not out of the woods yet they say they have to see if I get organ damage but they are taking care of me.
I am just feeling down about being so sick
could you send good thoughts this way
Thanks

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

Best wishes all the way from Oz

Try to think positive, I know that is not always easy.
I'm so sorry to hear how bad you are feeling these days. I can only wish for you a speedy and healthy recovery. I'm glad you were so close to the main hospital so that you could be transferred for care so fast. Take care, and God Bless you. I will include you in my nightly prayers. Lynne
I had a full blown UTI maybe a year ago or so. I called the doctor and they wouldn't prescribe unless I went in so I didn't go in... I took D-MANNOSE instead. It took a good week or better but it went away without the help of antibiotics.
Just wanted to share. THere is help out there. Doctors don't respect any of the alternative or complementary meds, or at least, offer information on any of it.
Hope you're feeling better. Definitely look up the powder though. Maybe you can do something about the resistance you've built up to antibiotics. :)
Keep working on the cure. I had a troublesome one last year but it finally went away after 4 treatments. Keep trying. My best goes to you.
I have done this for years and it really does work. They are over the counter and cheap. Give it a try, it can't hurt. Will pray for your healing. ((hugs))
Yes, the stress would make any illness worse.
I'm glad you are where you can receive needed medical care and that you have support of loved ones to be there for you.
Be very gentle with yourself and keep us posted as to how you are getting on with all of this.
Keeping you in my thoughts for a good outcome.
((hugs)) shared
