I'm just wondering what the cost of shots like Copaxone will be once a person hits 65 and goes on Medicare if it is still around by then. Anyone on here in that boat?

I'm not 65 but am on Medicare and it won't matter with age once your on it. My part B covers drugs and I'm on Rebif and my copay is $1000 a month and they pay $2000. My insurance rep said not to buy part D because if I get both shipments of Rebif in the same month or even one per month as soon as I get my second shipment with the few other meds I'm on I jump over the doughnut hole right into catostropic coverage where my cost are $2.50 or 5% whatever is more. But Chronic Disease Fund picked up all but $25 a month for my Rebif

Doesn't Shared Solutions kick in for the Copaxone? if you're signed up for that? Seems to me if you qualify for assistance, they cover when the deductible is too high. I don't take meds anymore so I'm not current since qualifying last year. I think for the Rebif, it's MS Lifelines.

I have been on Medicare since 1994. I take Avonex but Biogen Access Program pays for all of it as my deductible is lower than yours but considered too high. The first year on the Avonex in 2007 my Medicare Advantage Plan pay part B and there was no co-pay. Since then my insurance really got messed up and the Access Program stepped in. I not had to pay for anything. But what is it going to be like at 65? Will there even be Medicare? I don't know. Will I still be taking Avonex... going for MRI on Thursday see what's going on.
