Is there any dietary or herbal way to slow, halt or even reverse MS? My sister has this disease and I'm sure she as well as you all would love to hear positive success stories.
I heard about Lorenzo's oil, as I understand a variation of olive oil with 2 vitamins or peptides removed, as a way to arrest shrinkage of the myelin strand. I don't know if Lorenzo's condition was related to MS.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

I have gone from being bedridden for years, then using a wheelchair too long, now up and walking with a quad cane. I am certain that this is due , to a combination of several specific supplements) , careful healthy diet along with regular exercise. Many herbs have positive effects on various symptoms, I use them as I need them.
Have never done steroids and never will. I've never used Lorenzo's oil,
but it is a great source of omega 3's. Right now I am using a combination of grapeseed & extra virgin olive oil. Healthy diet is very important.
Have been writing an Ebook in my spare time, because I like to write
and can't seem to get it finished. Eventually I will.
Many things can be done to fight this condition, exercise is very important. One day at a time.

IF..IF they are found to do this in Phase 3 trials then you could had this to remyelinating drugs and slowly reverse some of the symptoms. I am keeping my fingers crossed that in the next 4 years we could see these meds and outcomes come to fruition.
Best wishes to all,

As far as natural alternatives go...
Stress makes symptoms worse according to everybody I have talked to with MS. Thus reducing your body producing stress in the first place with therapy like neuro-feedback etc.
Get specialized testing to find out what foods cause:
1.) Prostaglandins and Leukotrienes (Steroids block these chemicals to reduce inflammation and pain. If you are eating foods that cause these chemicals you are adding to your problems)
2.) Reduce foods that cause cytokines ie IL-7 that stimulate T-cells which in MS cause damage to your nerves.
I go over all this and a lot more in a book called Autoimmune Success. Ch 9 covers the few main tests and therapy you could talk to your doctor about getting to help your own individual immune response.
Best wishes to you,
EP
PS Testing for food (way better than most GPs script) is really important. Wahls suggest kale but my husband has immune response to this food. Different people are going to have reactions to different "Healthy" food that is not good for them. Please get individual testing and eliminate what is not good for you.
