hi....for me,i was 17 yrs old..was in a car wreck that did no real damage...just pulled muscles....but...i couldnt walk,not at all..for 6 weeks...then when i was able to walk it took months to walk more then a few feet....that was the begining.....the pain never went away and im 46 now.....

in my early 30's i woke up one morning,went to stand up to walk to bathroom and fell flat on my face!!!!!!!!...my son had to help me to and from bathroom..i couldnt walk for 2 weeks....docs didnt know why...

2005 after many docs dx me with fibro..i was tested in all ways for m.s. sure enough,thats what it was,wich is what the eye doc had said the previous yr when i presented with double vision(optic nueritis)

Mine was extreme fatigue in my early twenties. It was bad I couldn't stay awake. I was told it was "Housewife Syndrome". That was 1972. Slow forward to my diagnosis in March 2011.

Mine was in my 30's, extreme fatigue with my left leg and all of a sudden, inable to maintain an upright position while out in my yard, cutting the lawn. Bladder issues kicked right around that time too.

It was sure scary when symptoms started occurring, wasn't it? Did you walking improve over the years?

I am guessing mine started right after birth of my son who is now 22. Sharp shooting pains in the back which were intermittent (thought it was from carrying around the child) and then came tubal ligation (nausea and weight loss, just not feeling well for over a year - he was 2) and then when he was in kindergarten foot burning, itching and ultimately numbness. Full blown attack when he was 12 and the rest, as they say, is history.

My 1st symp was the very tip and at 1st only the tip of my left thumb went numb for no apparent reason. My 2nd symp was 24/7 double vision that lasted a year and a half. MS Fatigue was my 3rd symp.

Looking back... In my early 20's my left foot went numb, dragging on the floor, just thought it went asleep, next year groin would go numb, thought I was from crossing my legs, late twenties, had a cough went blind in my left eye, thought it was from coughing too hard, never went to the doctors. 26 in a car accident, hurt left elbow, had shooting electrical shocks which was told was the muscle compensating, then April 2011 my world exploded, went from numb feet to paralyses in face, buzzing in ear ms hug, to loss of all motor skill and strength in both hands. Severe vertigo and constant humming in spine. Think I had every single symptom when diagnosed in may 2011. Been a world spin as I like to say. Only lasting symptom is spasticity in my right hand.

Feet problems, fell all the time sister, finally insisted I go to dr. MRI said ms.,,

My mom passed in late January and I had a lot of stress dealing with her estate. I think the stress brought on my symptoms. I started getting vertigo intermittently, which lasted several years, It would come for 4-5 weeks and go away for a month or two, then come back 4-5 weeks and then go away. It was the vertigo that laid me on my back. I didn't do anything about it, but mention it to my doctor, and told her that I was extremely fatigued. My doctor really didn't do anything for me about my complaints but give me B-12 shots. That was my first symptom. I went for hearing tests which led me to have an MRI which showed multiple lesions. The ENT nurse told me I had MS, which brought me to my 1st neuro. I've suffered about 3 years with doctors telling me I didn't want to have MS because I didn't want to have to take medication every day! Real as$h01#s.

My left foot got numb for no apparent reason, my doctor told me it was neuritis, and two months later it went away.
A year after that my righ hand and arm got numb and I got the same dx.
Then both my legs and arms gor numb and I could hardly walk and had almost no use of my right hand, thats when I went to a Neuro who did all the tests (spinal tap, mri, etc) and I got my MS dx.
It took almost eight years to find out what was wrong. I was on avonex for some time and now I am taking Gilenya.
The numbness in my hands and arms never went away, but fortunately I can walk and still have a job.

In 2009 I spent a couple months in a wheel chair then it eased up. I did fine except for every month when I had my period I would have BAD pain again. Until last year when the back/hips and leg pain came back full force. I finally got into to a great Neuro and they tried shots in my back and during an MRI I had after I wet the bed (never happened in my life before) they found lesions on my spinal cord. I am currently suffering major pain every day and I take medications for the symptoms that have so far kept me out of the wheel chair this time, but I am getting to the point I just dont know how much more pain I can take.

I just notice between my front two teeth the filling is gone and it has turned black. Ugh..... no dental insurance to fix that, so i pray it doesnt start hurting too!

Sorry this is a long babbling story too; but here goes.

When I was about 14, SOMEtimes, my legs got weak for me, so I just couldn't help out at home to to much (like I couldn't carry the big grocery bags so well, I couldn't carry in the wood logs for the fireplace aLOTTA the time; simple stuff my brother had no issue with doing always.) The Dr.s just told my mother I was "too selfish" to want to help out "Her reflexes are just fine/ her legs work when she wants them to! Also, she just keeps the shower water toooo hot so she ends up dizzy afterwards; so SHE can be squeaky clean and waste every drop of hot water in the tank for herself! She REALLY IS just being SELFISH! She needs to be taught how to act well"

Then In high school when I'd fall asleep in classes; it was again because I were a selfish person. Because Miss Gwen musta stayed up all hours of the night just watching TV instead of getting any rest! One nurse said "Oh all teenagers are over tired; its not a thing to worry about

When I had problems in school again at 18 I was FINNALLY taken serious with my health problems.
My vision was doubled for seemingly no reason, I was not drunk, or having sinusitis, the ophthalmologist told everyone that something REALLY seems to be wrong with Gwendolyn that is NOT her fault! Is there a history of Multiple Sclerosis anywhere in the family?... A week later I had my first MRI that showed 26-32 of our happy MS spots.

I think my first symptom was when I was about 28 when I started noticing that my left eye was seeing(or not really seeing) everything in a shadow sort of. Went to eye doc and they gave me glasses even though I was 20/20...wore for about 1/2 year and gave that up...depth reception? was messed up...next symptom was 10 years later at 38. I was walking home from work at 3 in morning on normally tired legs from being on feet most of 12 hours as usual and my right leg just started dragging...bang right there I knew I was hooped.,,next day my back was so sore I had to lay in bed for two weeks and quit my job...given another chance at work but back was too sore so had to quit work again...fumbled around for maybe 3 years hoping to feel better enough to pursue work, was ordered by the Government to see Doc and was DXd with MS at about age 41 I think...I had not even heard of MS, I thought I probably had spine cancer...now 51 on a cane, now if I go out which is like once a month maybe and the rest of the time I'm just in my bed getting worse...going to need a scooter for the summer months and be a homer for the winter up here in Canada where I live it's -30Celsius right now and crazy icy...
