Boyfriend just left for a year

My boyfriend and I are really close and he's a pilot and a certified Flight instructor and in order to get enough hours to work at an airline he has to work as a CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) For a year away where warmer weather is. They asked for him august 1st just a week ago so he left today. 2 days ago the last day we saw eachother before not seeing eachother for a while again we both broke down crying cause we were so sad to be apart from each other. Now that he's gone i just feel so heartbroken and I know we are going to be fine as we love each other a lot, but I just miss him already so much and never have had to do Long distance and It hurts to know he's away for a long time. Any tips?

So I went today to pick up the images of my heart to bring for the second opinion, and they said that they would be at the desk. They assured me that they would be there and that they would be open until 5 PM. I bypassed their stupid AI receptionist that gets everything wrong, and talked to the medical records person, and purposefully spoke to her to make sure we were on the same page, since I...

I had a really good therapist last year year briefly, but when my insurance changed, I lost her. It was nearly impossible to find someone who could meet after work and wanted to meet in person. It took me five months. I finally found someone through a firm that I used to use and they opened up a location right near my house, like 15 minutes away and she had appointments at 5 and 6. It was ok...

Would there be any time where he could come back for visits? How far away is he, could you go visit there sometimes?
I am wondering first, if there will be opportunities to see each other in person over the next one year?
I was in a LDR for a couple years, in my late teens. I cried a lot in the beginning, too. But we were in constant communication and made trips to see each other. Keep up the communication, Facetime or Skype, text or talk often, and just keep the lines of communication open.
It's sad, but you know it won't be forever. One year will go by fast. Stay busy seeing your friends and family. Staying social and going out, is important. Also, concentrate on YOU now. Your job, your school... whatever it is that you do on a daily basis. This is a great time to focus on you now!!
How long have you two been dating?
The busier you are, the faster the time will go by. :-) We're here for you, so please keep writing... it helps to write.
Take this time apart to do things for yourself. Maybe there's things you have put off or postponed, but now you will have time to do them. Pour yourself into your job, take some online classes, take up a new hobby, join a gym or start exercising.... etc.
Also, important to keep socially busy. Go out with your friends, spend time with your family.... you want to keep socially active with other people. Isolation would only bring depression and loneliness at a time like this.
Everything's going to be just fine!
