Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

So I went today to pick up the images of my heart to bring for the second opinion, and they said that they would be at the desk. They assured me that they would be there and that they would be open until 5 PM. I bypassed their stupid AI receptionist that gets everything wrong, and talked to the medical records person, and purposefully spoke to her to make sure we were on the same page, since I was sent home from the hospital the last time I want to be certain of everything now. I said that I would be getting off of work at 4 PM and could be there by 5. Since they would be there until 5 PM, I asked would they have the CD with the image ready at the desk (they don't send them electronically). She had that same snippy, cold tone in her voice that they tend to have. She said "Yep," and hung up the phone.
I drove down there today right after work, I got there at 4:40, and when I arrived there the doors were locked. And older couple told me to go around the back. I did, and also called. I spoke to them and told them that I had specifically talked to medical records who had assured me that the images would be ready and that I could come and pick them up, and I was extremely upset at this point. I said that I could not understand why I was not told that the doors would be closed at 4:30. I said this situation went in a similar way at the hospital, where there were missing and incomplete pieces of information, and I felt like people just didn't care. They should put on their website that they are closing at 4:30. I am going to need the images for the second opinion on Monday. I don't want to be standing there on Monday with no images it's going to make the visit really unproductive.
This was the same attitude and manner that I got from them when I called to go over the details of the heart procedure, they were just really rude and dismissive. Had we talked about it, they might have been able to tell me that no, a medical transport would not be acceptable. Even if I hadn't drank too much water, the hospital probably would have sent me home on that technicality. If they hadn't just blown me off when I called that day to go over details I feel like the fiasco could have been avoided. Nothing about the ride was mentioned in the notes they gave me. And if she told me that they close the doors at 4:30 instead of 5 PM I would have not driven all the way there only to be standing outside. I also didn't like it that they said they would come out with the images and that someone would call me, and they never did. This doctor is supposed to possibly do heart surgery on me? I don't know...I've had other procedures done and it didn't go this way. Over my life more than a few. I'm thinking of going beyond getting a second opinion and just transfering my care to the other doctor. Hopefully I can get my records. By law they have to give them to me. I mean fr wth it is like pulling teeth. Driving down there to the shuttered doors after I was told the records would be available really left a bad taste in my mouth.
