Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...

I'm so tall!
I'm a freak of nature!
I must play basketball!
Every time people say these things to me, I would say this back if society would let me:
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! SOME PEOPLE ARE EXTRA-SUPER-TALL! GET OVER IT! What else would you like to talk about? I'm into music and movies, if that gives you any ideas."
I couldn't join the local tall club when I needed it most because I had to be 21. When I did turn 21, I started and submitted an application, but I told them to cancel it because I had to be in my 40s or 50s to belong. I used to let it lie, but now that I'm terminally lonely I feel bad about it again, and like they lied to me (and possibly others).
I wish there was an alternative tall club I could join that actually WAS for 18-39-year-olds.

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

Tomorrow is National Massachusetts Day!Have you ever lived in or visited Massachusetts? If so, tell us what's great about the Bay State!

Then again, being short doesn't improve things. My middle child is only 5 foot 1. She can kick your ass if provoked but she gets picked on a lot. What doesn't help her is she plays a tuba that is 3/4s her size. Even the school superintendent asked her why she doesn't play the piccolo at her size.
I wouldn't let anyone dictate how you feel about yourself or your height.
But I wanted to mention : Where I used to live I found a friend... who was 6'4". I felt we had things in common -- but was economically unstable in those times, so, well it was like ships passing/in the early evening.
A woman friend nowadays is 6' , and part of the reason she isn't getting out I think is her tallness. I see women every now and then who seem I think a little isolated --due to tallness .
Will mention dating sites. Of course some of them are not wrth their salt, so.... But I just did a Google search. Of the first 6 links, 5 were of 5 different tall sites. Tall.life is one; it is owned by a 6'7" fellow and altho the requirements to join up seem trivial, I have a hunch extra tall ppl gravitate towards that spot. I googled a wuestion something.like..... dating site "tall owner" ....
A friend had me meet her daughter when i visited the latter's city. The person i met had crushes on a couple pro ball players, imagining they felt a little alienated -- like her . She pro,,ly sent them.fan letters. And when infrequently encountering real lofty guys at parties, she pro'ly went over and hit on them.
Do U live in a city?, or a smaller place....
/I wish you uck my friend
Or up.
The ppl we can best admire are able to keep a respectful distance.
But here's the thing : if starting off with , "Yes, I get that a lot." Or. "Um, yes, I hear that often." (more forma.
While you look them over and decide whether they are worth the time of day.
Am trying to think how getting accosted like this can be, depending, a positive thing. 'Cuz it's gonna keep happening.
"Yes, of course. But I heard this just earlier. It's tiring to be ...
(After turning to walk on/)
"...accosted this way." . . . . . . from Caleb; good luck, Dude . . :)
By lonely, I take it you mean it's hard to find a mate, one who is close to your height, or if shorter, not intimidated by you? Say "I'm a gentle giant, like Peter Mayhew, who plays Chewbacca".
