I'm so tall!

I'm a freak of nature!

I must play basketball!

Every time people say these things to me, I would say this back if society would let me:

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! SOME PEOPLE ARE EXTRA-SUPER-TALL! GET OVER IT! What else would you like to talk about? I'm into music and movies, if that gives you any ideas."

I couldn't join the local tall club when I needed it most because I had to be 21. When I did turn 21, I started and submitted an application, but I told them to cancel it because I had to be in my 40s or 50s to belong. I used to let it lie, but now that I'm terminally lonely I feel bad about it again, and like they lied to me (and possibly others).

I wish there was an alternative tall club I could join that actually WAS for 18-39-year-olds.

Nothing against short people, but I am 5'10" and a bit taller than most of my friends, which helps with my self-esteem. Even then there is that silly 6 foot benchmark that some women have.

Short people are lovable too. They are fun to hug and such.

I don't like being friends with people that judge others on appearance. I'd rather get to know someone first than assume anything about them.

Great for you, Ranias. The guy's 23 years old. "Friends" close to that age are GOING to be shallow, superficial, judgmental and categorizing. They all just graduated high school 5 short years earlier and are still very "cliquey", into "fitting in", somewhere...

Also, he lives in Fair Oaks, CA, which I'm assuming, because he's a screenwriter, is close to L.A., where everybody wants to be in the movie business, either as an actor or actress, or a screenwriter, director, producer, cinematographer, editor, production designer, costume designer, music composer, etc. In short, they want to be part of the illusion of moviemaking, which, especially if his friends wanna be actors, and are into looking some standard of supermodel gorgeousness and perfection, can't help when trying to forge some kind of meaningful conversation.

I'm here for ya, Eric, am a writer, director, cinematographer and editor, and will talk movies, stories of substance, anytime. I'm a student of all movies, from the first dawn of cinema silent classics up to the latest superhero fads and Star Wars.

Those are good points koolman. I haven't really put myself in situations where my appearance matters much, other than trying to date people. And I can imagine people in his city being shallow.

Also I noticed that he has his facebook on his profile on here if anyone wants to try reaching out to him that way.

Tall runs in my family .

My daughter is 5' 10 ..my granddaughter is slightly under 6 feet
My brother is 6'7"

I feel comfortable around tall people

I'm sorry, I am less then 5 foot and it get old sometimes...when I was young it was being teased or called shorty, etc and to this day there is a definite feel of being talked down to. I feel your pain.
