Great to see updates from a lot of you- hope everyone's doing well! My ER was a success! Got 11 eggs and 9 of them fertilized (with ICSI- dh has low morphology) and are growing normally. Unfortunately, they found a polyp in my uterus last week and following the strong recommendation of my RE, going to freeze any embryos we have after 5 days, do the surgery to remove the polyp and hopefully be ready for a FET in August. Sucks to have to wait, but super excited about our embies and trying to be positive about the future!
As for the ER itself- I was out completely and obviously didn't feel a thing. I had a lot of cramping and bloating for two days afterwards, but wasn't really painful, more just uncomfotable.
Hoping to hear lots of BFP's from this group soon!!!!:)

I'm a bit bummed, but trying to stay positive...I only have 1 egg. WTF?!?! I apparently had 6 or 7 empty follicles. I think I"m more annoyed because I paid thousands of dollars for meds 100% out of pocket that did ziltch. BUT, I'm trying to remember it only take one, right??? I usually have good egg quality, so please pray that my golden egg fertilizes today.

GTmommy - you are a lesson in patience and focus! Wow, 7 IVF's...I applaud you for hanging in there. You give all of us hope..or at least me, lol. Best wishes for a BFP Monday!

Laurie, of course I have been online today reading about empty follicles. Did your RE change anything with your trigger shot? Seems like that's the leading cause of empty follicles. But I'm still a believer that it only takes 1. Of course it is because most women get BFP with a singleton. This is your golden one for sure

Had my ER yesterday and had 13 eggs. Now waiting to hear about whether any were viable. Am so impatient!

Laurie, just a word of comfort. My bff went through IVF twice, and only managed three eggs. It was a no go with two the first time, and the second time she only had one, that her doc said wasn't likely. She gave birth two weeks ago to identical twin girls. So, long story short, it only takes one. But I can understand being bummed. Hang in there!

Laurie-I decided to send you some success stPraying for a successful ivf for you!! We are currently 12 weeks along after our second attempt at ivf. Our first attempt failed. Our second, we ended up with only one embryo to transfer. It was an 8 cell with 0% fragmentation. I am glad to hear that you have two!!! Waiting to day five usually has more to do with the total number of embryos you have rather than the strength of an individual embryo. If you have a lot of them, them you can afford to wait to see how they develop, but with only a few, there is no reason to keep them out of the womb. My RE believes the best place for an embryo is the uterus. We had six eggs retrieved this time, but only one fertilized the right way. My RE couldn't explain it, totally bizarre, all that matters now is that we got the right one!! I will pray that you do too!!!ories for IVF with one egg."
"My dear friend had her last FET transfer done and she had frozen only one egg left she did not even wanted to do the transfer. When they thawed the embie he even had lost cells, he was only 3 cells at the time, and she was 40yrs old. Anyway she has a beautifull boy of 5 yrs old now from that 3 cells!"

I would keep posting but it is too many success stories to mention them all. When I say it truly only takes one..IT REALLY DOES. I am glad your mom is going with you so she can pamper you and Golda

Ok, so I go for my implantation, and the doc explains that the eggs didn't look very good, so that's why 3 are being implanted and that there's a seriously low risk of triplets. Ok, I don't get it. All of this pain, emotion and expense, and here the doc's basically saying the chances are super low for it to work. So why implant the eggs then? I hate it. Am supposed to be calm and relaxed, but all I keep thinking about is 2, 3, and 4, the numbers of the cell doubling or whatever it's called, because the numbers are so low. Just fed up. How do you stay positive and at the same time make sure you don't get your hopes up too high to avoid being broken hearted?

Alwayssarah: Don't worry about ranting, that's what we are here for. It's hard not to get caught up with the numbers, but just remember there are so many success stories with what were considered low fert numbers/fragmentation. God Bless!

So, just found out that only 4 of the 9 embryos we had made it to freezing (freezing all while I have a polyp removed). I know we're fortunate to have any, let alone 4, but I feel like having less than 50% of our embryos make it the 5 days and get frozen is low. Any thoughts on this?

Golden- I think four is a good number for blastocyst. I TR 2 yesterday and waiting to find out if any of my other 7 will be able to freeze. They are really tuff in grading the 5 day to freeze, which is great. You only want the ones they know can make it for a FET. 4 gives you 2 FET successful FET cycles for sure.

HI Ladies - I'm up and about off of bedrest. The transfer went great, and little Golda and I have been reunited for hopefully 38 weeks :-)
My beta is 7/6...its going to be a loooong 10 days!

Golden - Kimolu is right they want the best of the best for freezing b/c the embryo's have to survive not only the freeze but the defrost. I think four is an AMAZING number to have made it. That's two FET cycles :-)

Sarah - don't stress yourself out about the grade. They're transferring three, so the odds are in your favor that one will successfully implant. Babies are born from less then perfect embies all the time. I was told that my embie had vasular issues at first, but recovered well. The body is resilient!

Kim - When is your Beta? Sorry about the PIO shots...I've heard that they are painful. How long do you have to take them?

Laurie- my beta is July 5. It actually would of been on the 4tth if it were not a holiday. It's going to take everything in me not the go to the emergency room on the 4th I am sure.

Hi ladies. So my beta test is wednesday and I'm going out of my mind. My stomach is in knots and I keep thinking...it hasn't worked this time. Then I'm upset with myself for being negative and worry that by being negative it won't happen. I know this is totally out of my control now, but I'm a worry wart. Wishing all the best for all of you ladies in the same boat. Here's keeping hope alive!
