Can someone please tell me what AF and BFN, is?
i have done all the neccesary steps up until IVF, we wont start that till Aug.

I was so terrified during my first cycle and the online support helped me so much. The good humor and commeraderie is palpable. Many women from that first group I did in October are now due!!! May we all catch their sticky baby dust for our current cycles.

Today is Day 2 for me and I hope to find out more about how FET (frozen embryo transfer) works from the doctor's office asap. Anyone else doing FET or tried it before? Are the meds usually progesterone shots or more of other things as well?

@Jenl915: I hope your AF come soon. I know waiting for it is the worst when you want to get going on IVF!

I start Lupron July 2, and begin Follistim and Menopur on July 14. First IVF is becoming real for me!

Hi girls! Ok, am now having two injections a day, and Tuesday I have my second ultrasound. This is my first time through IVF. My dh and I tried and failed 3 IUIs, so now it's on to this. I am at a loss, because my doc doesn't go in for the, lets explain everything first, so I'm just going step by step. I think I'm supposed to have the egg retrieval roughly 12 days after AF? Not sure, but AF arrived today, so hopefully that means things are moving along. Anyone else super tired after the shots for making your body think it's having menopause? My sleep cycle is all messed up. Thank goodness for a good dh! Love to you all and best wishes!

Sarah, I feel the same way! I started lupron back on May 20th and after waiting an extra week for AF, finally started follicle stimulating hormones last Monday. I feel tired all the time, yet can't sleep through the night and have been waking up before my alarm almost everyday. Going for second ultrasound tomorrow and hoping those follicles are growing so I can get to the ER and stop these shots!!!

I am on my second day of stims and my ER is scheduled for June 19. I am using Follistim and Menopur now. I wasn't put on BCPs or Lupron. I will have my 1st sono and bloodwork on Monday. I can not wait to find out how my follies are growing after 4 days of stims.

Sticky Baby Dust To Us All

I am scheduled for retrieval this Sunday (Father's Day hopefully a good sign?:) however, have a "possible polyp" in my uterus which they are watching closely. They may not make a decision whether they will transfer embryos until the day of the transfer. Although the waiting and not knowing is driving me nuts, like my doctor has said, we've almost made it through the hard part. If we can't do the transfer this month, they will freeze the embryos, do surgery to get rid of the polyp and i'll hopefully be ready for a FET in August.

I had my trigger shot tonight and ER scheduled for Monday morning. My pregnancy test is July 5th. I just can not wait. I am just too excited. Sticky baby dust to us all

I haven't posted in this group before, but I'm about the same timing and I like having cycle buddies to go through this with :-)
My retrieval is scheduled for Tuesday am (a day after Kimolu). Kinda bummed I only have 6 follies over 16mm, but its more then last time, so that's great. My transfer will most likely be Friday,

SharynMarie - Waiting is hard, but IVF will sneak up on you before you know it!

Sarah - This is my second IVF and both times I had my retrieval 10 days after starting stims. Did you start stims already?

My retrieval is in two days! I must sound like a complete dork, but am actually excited. It's like, finally, no more injections, the doc'll do her thing, and all I'll have to do is wait. Yeah, not so keen on the upcoming 2ww. My dh last time, 3 failed iuis, he was terrible. Kept asking me how I felt, or if I felt differently. Even bought me a hpt, which I didn't want to take, and which of course was neg. He's promised to be good this time...but we'll see. Best wishes to all of you.

13 hour countdown until retrieval!

Sarah, I'm with you, I'm totally excited! As much about stopping the shots and that in two weeks I could, I mean I WILL be pregnant. :-)
Quick tip, I heard from my acupuncturist and other ladies on DS that eating pineapple, especially the core (eww) helps with implantation. So, stock up!

Cardinals - Don't worry, July will come before you know it. I was scared about the retrieval too...I think its the hardest part. Sorry, just being honest. I was put under full anesthesia, so I wasn't awake for the procedure. But, when I woke up, I was in lots of pain, but they quickly gave me some intravenous meds that helped. Make sure to get a pain rx from your RE to have when you get home. I would take my meds plus two advil and that seemed to help. I also had a heating pad. Thankfully you should feel better rather quickly. The pain was pretty much gone within 12 hours. Just think this is nothing compared to child birth. You can do it!

I'm on IVF Round #7, so I think I'm an expert. The first 5 rounds (with my eggs) failed. Round #6 with donor eggs was successful (my son is 2 yrs old) and now I just did an FET on 6/15 in the hopes of another BFP. Results on Monday, 6/27... gosh that seems like forever away!
