Thats a great point about other deodorants being out there that will work and to find what works for you.I've never heard of deodorant working to close a sore so this shocked me that it worked for me and worked fast.

I have used Dove deodorant since I was 15 and haven't had breakouts under my arms but have broken out around where the deodorant stops under my arms.I used dove over a open sore and it totally closed it so I'm definitely interested in learning about the castor oil..though i do like that dove smells good and makes me feel cleaner with it on my sores.I've never heard of castor oil until now so I don't know a lot about it and whether it smells good etc but I do want to research it and learn more about it.

Lucky are you using it on other places than underarms? Im thinking of using it on a sore that won't heal on my butt cheek...

Yep I've put it where ever I have an open sore(or swollen bump) and its closing them up.Its keep me from feeling itchy too.

The sore that wouldn't go away is under my breast and then I have some on the inside of my thigh towards my groin that I have used it on and its making a big difference.

My underarm is 90% better tonight! I just put some on the other spot. Ive got my fingers crossed that it helps! This spot has been constantly enraged since last summer!!!! Little spot but oh my so painful and the little but of drainage that it has really depresses me. :( but im hopeful:) I think we should all keep each other updated. The kind of dove I'm using is the only kind the store had n and its radiant silk. Smells, very nice and makes me wonder why I ever stopped using dove soap and deodorant.

I hear ya on that..mine is small too but its in a painful place so its annoying and my bra seems to rub it a lot.I'm happy about seeing the redness reduce too.I'm using the energizing Dove and I think its like spring scented or something.I'll have to double check and see.I love Dove deodorant but I've never tried the soap.I hope you continue to see improvement.

The healing kind of stagnated for a couple weeks for me. But I realized I'd been slacking about taking my zinc in that time, and since I've been doing it again, things have started healing again.

It might have just been a coincidence, but I'm not sure.

after all these years of trying this that and the other and spending thousands of dollars...I am dumbfounded that something as simple as Dove helps...but for real it is working. I got it yesterday and my underarms feel better. Even wore a shaper to go to a meeting today...I had the damn thing b/c its like a leotard and well squeezing fat doesn't make for a good idea with HS...but for real, I put the dove all over my belly and underarms and anywhere HS has ever been and I am not miserable or in pain and that is a miracle. I don't have any open draining sores so I can't speak to that but I can tell you I am not itchy or in pain and the littler no yet ruptured sores I had feel smaller and I forgot for just a few hours that I even have to worry about HS. That is fantastic. I am happy!

That is awesome mixie! My pain is gone from mine too and not as red which makes me really happy.my groin area that was really tender isn't even bothering me now.I have one sore that has bothered me but it's in a awkward place where I cant put the dove but everywhere else is doing great.

I have used Dove deodorant for quite a while now. I'm going to try it on my sores and see what happens. (My sores are mostly in the groin area) Maybe the Dove has prevented me from getting sores under my arms?

I bought the Dove sensitive skin deodorant and oh my goodness! I am hooked! #1- cysts under arms are calmed down, and hardly noticeable now. #2 - cyst I was suffering with on my lady parts ruptured after one application of deod and healing beautifully. I suggest putting the deod onto the bandage if putting it on the source of pain is too much to handle.

I realized after someone mentioned Dove on here that I never break out under my arms where I put the dove deodorant and it dawned on me that I should definitely try it on other places because I haven't had sores there..its definitely working for me.

That is a good suggestion about putting the dove on a bandaid.

What is it about the dove that helps I wonder?
