worse day ever...at er, lost friend...damn hep c

Today has been hell day. I was going to journal this but I'm on my phone and I was having problems. Last night I went to ER because I was having chest pains which now I believe was just me upset. After riba rage was released on a friend because I felt like that Was trying to pick fights with me. We argued and my friend screamed at me your nasty ass probably gave me your disease. They said they hoped I died a slow death. I was shocked. When I went to ER the doctor wanted to know why I was taking interferion. I explained the Dr responded this is not curable. Interferion treats symtoms not the disease. My friend did come by hospital and was there when Dr gave some misinformation. I'm so confused. I was also told that my symtoms wasn't real and I was using treatment for an excuse. My friend was screaming this outside my middle class neighborhood where I was trying to keep it low key. I was treated second class at er when they found out about hep c. Yesterday was one of the lowest points. I've lost a friend, was profiled, and humilated. Just ranting to DS

They were never your friend. Yoour real friends will stand by you. Sadly, we often refer to aquaintes as friends. Real friends are rare.
File a complaint with the hospital OIC (or whatever civilians have) about your treatment.

ER docs haven't been around very long. He probably won't last. There's different levels of friendship. You gotta be careful sometimes. Even with family. Maybe your friend will feel some empathy later on when she realizes what you're going through. Hang in there, it can only get better sometimes.

so sorry for your bad experience at the er...alot of the medical world is just so ignorant about hep c...i had a nurse start to remove my iv at the er and i looked down and saw blood and realized she wasn't wearing gloves....of course i screamed stop and startled everyone lol i told her to go wash her hands that i have hep c (its always on my charts) so she wandered over to the sink shaking her head mumbling "stop?".... its time for the medical world to become more aware and informed about hepc...they should not have treated you the way they did...not only unprofessional but soooo uninformed. hope things get better for you...

Wow, this makes me sick. How can someone who claims to be a doctor say such crap? The treatment TREATS HEP C the disease and as the disease starts to go away it also helps the side effects from the disease.

I can't believe there are still so called doctors out there who relate such misinformation to people. This is a large part of the problem with HCV. So many people even people who pratice medicine who aren't working with Hep C know so little about it. I would have called that doctor out.

Thats why it is ALWAYS important to RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH! All the time! That way when someone makes a dumb statement you can say something back to correct them.

So sorry your day was so crappy.

you on any anti depressants with Tx? These will lessen the panic states big time. Anxiety can be a side effect of Tx. Take a few weeks to kick in properly though

    Is anyone here allergic to Sulfa that is currently taking Diamox? I have been diagnosed with IH now for almost 2 years. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...
