Is anyone here allergic to Sulfa that is currently taking Diamox? I have been diagnosed with IH now for almost 2 years. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went back to my neurologist because #1 I don't like him..My opthaolomologist said that my vision is not getting worse with the optic nerve swelling so that is good news since I go every 3 months. Just wondering if there is something else that I can do other than surgery? This has effected my daily lifestyle of hiking, and being outdoors. The topamax makes me very tired, and at times depressed. Since I have been on the medication I have not even wanted to exercise, and I have actually gained weight. My IH was brought on by the drug Doxycycline! Any help/advice will be appreciated.
Thanks!

I am going to do a skin allergy test next month. They are testing me for up to 120 different allergys. So my question is... Is it possible to have a pollen allergy with no allergy symtoms. But have Asthma symtoms?Information about skin allergy tests would be great too thanks.
"Even" if you switched to Diamox, it makes me feel the same way you just described the Topomax so not sure it would help with living your life to fullest. :(
Don't want to be the downer, just let you know that Diamox might not fix you either. As the Diamox has not resolved my paps, and I'm am looking at eye surgery.
