The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

This forum is being slaughtered and people are being warned,banned, and just plain leaving because they express a different opinion than other people. This has got to stop NOW. These posts are being removed because they are being reported as offensive.
I think that the only positive way to solve this is a "popular vote" for a C.L.
I'd like to nominate Mckenzie but there are others who are equally qualified if she is not interested.
Please just throw some names out there and see what happens.
And to D.S. please do not remove this post as being offensive because it is meant as a positive thread in an attempt to save this room.
If you remove anything just take out the bad replies not the whole thread..okay

i just don't come here any more other than for a few seconds to lend a little support. i'm disgusted with what's happened to a once great place.
mos, ptriss, you a1, Q, capn - oh, several gone.
i'm not going to say what i want b/c i'm on a few other groups i want to stay connected to.
are the thieves running the store or whatever that saying is...

This is the second time it has been visited since I have been a member of DS. At first I was not in favor, but then again, I had never been exposed to a troll. I did not read all the post but I believe before Mosrite was mentioned. I would like to throw his name in and I DO now support this! We need a CL! I would gladly support anyone who would take on this responsibility.

I think there are several good candidates for CL. Ptriss and Mac are both very knowledgeable of the disease and how to reason with people.
I'm not playing favorites, because I like all of the folks that were mentioned, but Mac is a proven leader from back in the early years of DS. She has also dedicated many more volunteer hours to this site than all of us.
I'm glad she was able to take some time off, she deserved it, but we haven't replaced her and if she is willing I would support her 100%.
But the decision isn't ours, it is one decided by DS. Therefore I would support whomever they choose to be a CL. We have many good prospects. But Mac has proven herself as a fair and reasonable CL that treats everyone with kindness and makes it a point to befriend all members of the community. We go back a long way and I have never questioned her taking her responsibility seriously and going the extra mile putting in the hours it takes to do the job right.
No offense to anyone who is interested. I've just basing this opinion on the 6 plus years we have been friends. She does have what it takes to do the job responsibly.

mosrite told another DS member to stick her head in a deep fryer, that her post was stupid and that he'd send her a couple of cases of rum.

it was not the smartest thing for him to say to someone who's sick. obviously DS didn't appreciate his remarks.

the trend on the HCV forum is for everyone to blame everyone else, ANYONE else, except of course the person who posted the offensive remarks.
