Whew!
In my experience, women that are too independent are afraid to show vulnerability and open up emotionally. It seems that they feel that if they show any kind of vulnerability or emotional connection to a man, that it opens them up for "being controlled" and they will NOT tolerate that (this is usually a result of being screwed over in a previous relationship). I understand that fear but it puts up a defensive wall that is nearly impossible to penetrate and often takes SO much effort to get through that men become frustrated at the lack of progress in the relationship and call it quits.
Simply spreading your legs and letting the guy have sex with you does not attract the "decent man" type.
Or are they just too independent for you?
I believe that there are a lot of women out there that complain about the same thing in men. They work too much, they don't show any vulnerability, they are inattentive jerks that feel they can repair the relationship by purchasing a gift.
Work-a-holics, ugh. Emotionally unavailable, ugh. Those are the people that aren't ready to be in a relationship - with ANYONE! Not just you bigguy. And you're right, material things make not difference. If they're unwilling to open up, they need to be alone.
Such a shame for them. They'll never experience true love. My dad is one of those men.
