I just shoveled 260 feet of sidewalk, dug out my car, stbxh's van, son's car. Stbxh has been laid up with kidney stones for 2 days, son is on the road with the band, what perfect timing. I was young, foolish and stupid when I wanted a house with a lot of land and will be so glad when I'm outta here. Stbxh can keep it, sell it, do whatever he wants with it.

54 years of putting up with this white shit is enough for me thank you. Partner misses living in the northeast, misses the snow, misses the cold so I declared him out of his mind. He's been away from the northeast for so long he forgets what it's really like. lol

I just did the first run with the plow on the driveway.. Mine is long too leather.. Haven't done turnaround yet, deck or walkways.. There was about 18" on driveway, drifts 2', and eff the town plowers.. Must have been over 3' for the end 10' of the driveway... Still not even close to seeing pavement.
I agree, young and naive when I wanted all this land..

Now the news is talking about maybe more of this crap on Thursday.

I need ski goggles and gaiters.. It's cold wet and the wind is whipping out there.. The good thing is, it's to cold to melt and will be waiting for me when I go back out...the bad thing is that it's to cold to melt!!!!

I just thought of something funny that happened at work yesterday.. The store was really slow last night - it should have been closed, but we weren't.
A man came to my register with a basket filled with stuff.. I said - what are you doing out tonight? He said - just getting a few last minute things, we might be snowed in for awhile.. So I checked out his stuff - bread, chopped meat (hamburger meat to some of you), rolls, ketchup and Trojans...I said - well I guess you will have a way to pass the time...and be safe too
Normally I won't comment when people buy condoms, but I couldn't resist..he had a good sense of humor - said - I hope so...I really really hope so. And smiled...

smart customer viv. I've been trying to talk to my son the last few years about sex & condoms. I want him to be able to enjoy as much sex as he can handle BUT there's a wrong way & a right way & also a right person & a wrong kind of person to be with. I want him to know the difference... but we only seem to get a minute or two here & there to talk. Then he tells me a story about his uncle once wrapping his dick in "saran wrap" so that he could have sex with this girl. I told him, "see, right there....there's a wrong & right way. The thing was that I'm sure his uncle was telling this story & bragging about how smart he is...& this is the kind of information my son gets about sex, ugh.

When my sons were young and started hanging out with girls, I went and bought them condoms and told them if you're going to mess around just don't be stupid about it. They both said do you really think we don't buy our own?

Yea, the visual on that. This is the same Uncle that used to wash his entire car with the washer fluid & squeegee that they set out at gas stations, jeez that guy.

Thank goodness he had saran wrap...I can't even imagine what his second choice would have been, lol

I did the same thing Leather..and I stressed how important they were to use and explained to him about std's. we never had a problem discussing things, which makes the whole situation we are going through even worse for me...

The school district he went to had a very good health program. These kids were informed about a lot also.

I would drop him and his friends off for school dances and events and I would always say something to them like - don't have sex with strangers, don't drink and drive, don't drink and have sex, etc.. They would all laugh at me, but they also all felt comfortable asking me questions...
Some of the parents were kind of uptight and would never discuss anything with their kids.
You have to be open with them..

A Texan Moves North

January 10th:
It's 5:00pm and it's starting to snow. The first of the season and the first one we've seen in years. The wife and I took our hot buttered rum and sat by the picture window watching the soft flakes drift down, cling to the trees and cover the ground. It was beautiful.

January 11th:
We woke to a lovely blanket of crystal white snow covering the landscape. What a fantastic sight. Every tree and shrub covered with a beautiful mantle. I shoveled snow for the first time in my life and loved it. I did both driveway and sidewalk. Later, a snowplow came along and accidentally covered up the driveway with compacted snow from the street. The driver waved and smiled. I waved back and shoveled again.

January 12th:
It snowed an additional 5 inches last night and the temperature has dropped to 11 degrees. Several tree limbs have snapped from the snow. I shoveled the drive again. Afterward, the snowplow came again. Now the snow is brownish-gray.

January 13th:
It warmed enough today to cause slush which froze again when the temperature dropped. Bought snow tires for both cars. Fell on my azz in the driveway, $145.00 to the chiropractor. Nothing broken. More snow.

January 14th:
Still cold as hell. Sold the wife's car. Bought a 4x4 to get her to work. Slid into a guardrail anyway with considerable damage. Another 8 inches of snow last night. Both vehicles covered with salt and crud. More shoveling for me. The goddam snowplow came twice today. Grr!!

January 15th:
It's 8 freaking degrees outside. More freaking snow. Not a tree on our property that hasn't been damaged. Power was off most of the night. Tried to keep from freezing to death with candles and a kerosene heater, which tipped over and nearly burned the dam house down. Managed to put out the flames, but suffered 2nd degree burns on my hands plus lost all my eyelashes and eyebrows. Car slid off the road on the way to the emergency room, and totaled it.

January 16th:
More goddam white sh.it keeps coming down. Have to put on all the clothes we own just to get to the freaking mailbox. If I ever catch the son-of-a-bleep who drives that godforsaken snowplow, I'll tear open his chest and rip his heart out. I think he hides around the corner till after I've shoveled. Power is still off. Toilet froze. Roof has started to cave in.

January 17th:
Six more inches of this white crap and sleet and no telling what the hell else will happen. I wounded the snowplow azzhole with an ice ax, but he got away. Wife left me. The car won't start. I think I'm going snow-blind. I can't feel my dam toes, and I haven't seen the sun in weeks and more dam snow forecast. Wind chill is 22 below.

Dammit, I'm moving back to Texas!
