Oh Okie, why why why.. You knew that was going to upset me - about the live rodents...
The other day I was checking on the mouse traps and there was one live one with his foot caught. It upset me and I couldn't bring myself to kill it - that's what the traps are for - to spare me the agony..
So I took the little mouse in his trap and released him outside and shook the dogs toy around so he would go into the woods.. I saw him trying to run, dragging his little leg behind him.. At that point I wanted to rescue him and put him in a box until his leg healed, but I was strong and I let him go into the woods..
The next morning I looked in the pool and there he was floating.. I knew it was him because of the back leg...stupid mouse!

Viv, get yourself some humane mouse traps. Bait it with peanut butter on a cracker or bread. Very easy to use, very clean, no dead or wouded critters to deal with, take them at least 1/4 mile away to release them or they'll find their way back in and everyone is a happy especially mousie The humane traps are sold at Lowe's, Home Depot any hardware store that carries rodent traps.

That's how Eleanor/Ellie, a deer mouse ended up being my pet mouse. Caught her in a humane trap on a day that there was 9 inches of fresh snow on the ground and then it was freezing rain out, everything was solid ice. I couldn't take her anywhere to release her and didn't want to release her in those weather conditions so, she lived the next 5 years with me as a very spoiled mouse.

ah, you southerners freakin' deep fry everything and bbq everything. lol

I humanely put peanut butter and sunflower seeds on a trap. However, they never seem to make it past the "SNAP", so they can never be my pet. :(

Back in the day, it was scientifically proven that if you set a humane mouse trap, baited with coca-cola, mice will vaporize and dissappear. No guarantee on no smell.

I love having dual monitors. I can have San Andreas on one monitor and have cheats on the other. Or. I can have the chat for my live stream on the laptop screen and whatever else on the other. Dual monitors is very productive.

I purchase them frozen from a reputable breeder. They come boxed in dry ice, individually flash frozen then bagged together. You thaw them out in plastic sandwich bags in a bucket of cold water, then warm them with warm water instead of cold. The baggies ensure the rats stay dry.
My newest snake, Selina Kyle Captain Crunch, had always eaten live before I took her in. She ate frozen/thawed no issues at all.

It's actually extremely dangerous for the snake to feed live meals. When in the wild prey can run away. When in an enclosure, they fight back. The pictures I have seen of what rats can do to snakes makes me nauseous.

I love snakes! There's nothing quite like the feel of powerful muscle under that smooth, cool skin.
